one or both are seeking the max and might be headed to REstricted free agency.

While we not talking Parsons, landry or Linsanity type anamoly contract I expect someone will give them max money and they get matched.

Seems perhaps San Antonio is playing chicken with it future star or has a change of heart regarding his value.

Max money is no joke but the value jumps when restricted because the only way for teams with fewer draft picks but have money to get talant.

Id rather have Kawhi and I think he's worth more than Klay at this point. Is either worth the max? Def no on Klay. If Kawhi keeps developing, he could be worth it.

How does Nicolas Batum stack up with these guys? UFA in 2016..

My feeling -- pretty darn good 2-way player just entering his prime that shares some similarities with Kawhi Leonard (Kawhi's thicker, stronger, younger and the better all-around player, I get that, but they're in the same ballpark I feel) and shouldn't cost the max. Kawhi's a RFA in 2015, a guy I don't see SA let get away; Batum's an UFA in 2016 and may not cost as much...Right now, he's a great support player taking 10 shots a game for Portland, scoring 13-14 ppg. Give this guy another 5 shots a game and he's an all-star. And it's not only the scoring, he does a lot of things well -- defense, handles it fairly well, heady player, battle tested..

how often do those guys switch teams via FA? Once every 4-5 years? And when they do there is usually baggage like Amare's knees, Dwight's vagina, etc...

Especially with the cap changing offering a max to a young makes more sense.

No to Klay. Yes to Lenard. Yes to DeAndre. No to Gasol

Both of these guys are overrated in my opinion and are 10 million dollar players under the existing cap.

Exactly. I mean, I don't consider Gordon Hayward or Chandler Parsons max guys, but they get paid like it. Klay is at least as good as those guys and Kawhi is probably the best of that bunch. So I expect both Kawhi and Klay to pull max.

I think Kawhi is clearly better Batum. He's far more efficient on offense and is better defensively. Klay and Batum are in the same ballpark. Batum is better all around, but Klay is one of the best shooters in the league. Klay and Batum both hold their own defensively. It's probably a toss up.

I'm happy with MX Player. It's bare bones player, but it's stable and plays nearly every format.

Klay for this team. Great for this offense and underrated defender.

Exactly. These players are all getting overpaid. Can't get young free agents for below market value. You need to overpay free agents today.

I know, right? Its why I don't get the hard stance against these guys qualifying for the max. The market ultimately dictates a players value and Klay Thompson may very well be the best 2 guard in the league. That being said, I think it's hard to deny Klay or the reigning Finals MVP their max deals.

Owners don't dish out contracts due to some benevolent streak they have. They do so because the market, more often than not, dictates a respective player's worth. And considering the NBA is a multi-billion dollar brand and that there are only 450 players who ARE the product, their salary shouldn't come as a surprise. Do you understand that their names alone create thousands of jobs ranging from the people that make their shoes/clothing, to the people who market those products, to the endorsements they give to other, unrelated products that sheep buy? Why shouldn't players be compensated accordingly?

That made me laugh. I didn't expect to get a product review out of it. Ha ha
