I think he is a rising star who had a big set back this season. He would be perfect fit for Zeke. I know Zeke wants to get more athletic and Murphy isn't that type. But Murphy is though, a glass cleaner, can hit mid range jumpers which would be deadly pick and roll with Marbury. If Murphy were to add 15-20more pds he would be a very good center especially in the east. He has the height 6'11 the toughness & the rebounding which would probably go up if he played in the middle. He would be in the Brad Miller mold.

I wonder if there is a way to steal him from Golden State. He went from 11pts 10rebs in 32mins to 10pts 6.2rebs in 21mins because of the injury he came back from he played only 28games 21mins. He could become a 15-17pts 10-12rebound kind of guy. Though 17pts 12rebounds would be playing over his head I do think it would be reachable since he would improve each yr and with more mins like 38 he could put up #s around that range.

Forget it. Murphy will be a very good player, he's young and part of their future.

Ahm, you just described Kurt Thomas minus 3 inches. Amazing how we don't value what he have at all. Murphy will never be a center. You can't just add pounds at will. Also, he will never ever be better then 12 and 10. He is just a solid guy, who can start for a team with a big who scores in the post. Oh, wait, thats KT again.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

The difference is Murphy is 24 and can add a lot more to his game while KT is what he is. And if KT was 6'11 than he would be a lot more valued than he is. Murphy averaged 11-10 in his rookie season with 31mins of play again in his rookie season. With veteran experience 17-12 is reachable. Carlos Boozer went from 10pts 7.5rebs to 15.5pts 11.4rebs. Im sure if I said the same stuff about Boozer u would be saying that Boozer would be nothing better than a 12pt 9reb guy.

I like KT have nothing against him. Id rather go in the direction of youth though. Id also love to package KT for Dampier or for Tyson Chandler and take back a bad Bulls contract. If not I hope he gets healthy as KT & Marbury pick and roll was deadly before KT got injured.

Murphy is a softer, weaker defensively version of Kurt. No thanks.

Last season when he was healthy Troy Murphy in his rookie season was tied with Brian Grant for 5th in rebounding with 10.2 and J'Oneal was 4th with 10.3, Duncan 3rd with 12.9, Garnett 2nd with 13.4, B.Wallace 1st with 15.4. B.Wallace also played 38mins, Garnett played 41mins, Duncan played 39mins, J'Oneal 37mins, Grant 32mins, Murphy 32mins.

Remember were talking about a rookie who plays in the west. So what gives u the conclusion that Murphy is soft??? KT never averaged 10rebs in his whole career.

He put up 10pts 6rebs in 21mins after coming back from injury. If he didn't get injured and gotten 35mins a game I believe he would have put up 16pts 11rebs just like Boozer probably put up even better.

And I don't expect him to ever become a center but its my opinion that if he did put on 15-20 more pds of weight or better yet muscle that he would be a very good NBA center. If he did that he could earn himself an extra 4-6mil.

Murphy's a good rebounder, no doubt. That's off the topic, though. You can be soft and still be a good rebounder--Van Horn and Abdur-Rahim are perfect examples.

Last year was not his rookie year

So, you don't think he becomes a center, but he wil become a center, or wait, he wount, but you think he will, or no, i'm confused, what?

Yea my bad last season wasn't his rookie yr it was is sophmore yr.

Anyway. If Murphy did put on 15-20pds I think he would be a very good NBA center. Y is that hard to understand??? He probably don't do it, I don't expect him to do it. But if he did he would be 6'11 260-265 that is good size for a center. And with his rebounding ability which is better than KT and his 15 foot jumper along with the fact that there aren't to many good NBA centers I think he would be a very good center.

murphy is not soft at all and will be, baring injuries, a very good player. I'd trade KT for Troy in a nanosecond.

Point is, GS will not trade him.
