While some predict with great hope the knicks can win the atlantic, my take is a bit different.

I think we make a run for high draft pick.

I think guys that show great health and improvement will be traded. If Amare and Bargs play well and healthy, they get traded. If they get hurt they sit and yoot plays.

Melo don't feel good, he sits. This is an easy year for him. His minutes will be limited somewhat. Not saying we gonna lose 70 games, but this team has very little upside in its current form.

Granted, Nalod has been and always could be wrong and if the team gels I believe we make a push for a playoff spot, but what does that really do for us? My take is Phil gets his trio by tanking and getting either by draft or trade a stud and using capspace to make a run at either a unrestricted, or even a restricted player as well. Need three studs to make the Triangle work. Phil is not here unless he had a plan.

Is "Tanking" part of it?

A lot of solid big man prospect in the next draft. Emmanuel Mudiay is also an athletic freak who immediately upgrade our guard situation.

You can't succeed unless you put your self into position.

Luck: When preperation and opportunity collide.

I don't think this team is any more than an 8th seed and that might be a stretch. If so, my take is what is to be gained?
Tanking provides the experience and growth of yoot, expirings get a nice going away party, a possible franchise changing draft pick, and Capspace to sign a complimentry player.

I don't have anyone in mind so my concept is in line to be able to jump on an opportuinty than be hamstrung by capspace and midpack draft picks.

Blow what up? Look at things rationally. Melo was retained so "Blow it up" usually pertains to the star. "Destarphuchization"??? Naw, with melo we follow an organic process of rebuilding.

IM suggesting no rash moves to change a season. This started when we did not trade for Lowrey. When we traded Tyson. When we hired a rookie coach. When we lit the incense and let the Zen in.

There's nothing much to blow up at this point. Your two giant expirings walk after this season and maybe you can trade JR. I believe the biggest contract remaining after Melo is Jose's. The rest are primarily el cheapo and rookie contracts and Shump if you keep him.

This club is basically prepped to melt down this year so you can bulk up starting next year.

"Tank job" and "rash move" don't equate in your worldview somehow? Tanking obviously may play in Philly. I think our incense burner would be playing it a bit more straight with the media if he thought tanking and rebuilding through miracle draft picks was the way to go.

It's a wrap!!!..We should be doing everything to get better next year or the year after..Lets see if Shump and TimJr has a place on this team...No silly trades..Rest Melo...We are exactly where we were after the trade, Marv Ablert said it best, Melo and 4 guys...

Another gem from Jrodmc - nice post home slice.

I totally agree, that shyte won't play in the City. Plus the draft is not exactly a guarantee, especially with the lowered odds. We may end up with squadoosh.

'Sides, I'm not sure "tanking" is the sort of experience we need for our yoots. How about we get them some experience playing solid minutes, contributing, establishing their bona fides to be part of the next three years. Melo is going to compete for a chip while a Knick. B'leev that!

If we play our "yoots" extended minutes, chances are that they wouldn't do much toward adding to the win column. That, in effect, would be the same as tanking so no harm no foul.

And I'm not sure why you think the franchise couldn't tank. We've sucked for almost two decades now, with exception to three limp dicked trips to the playoffs. At least this time around, we'd have a lottery pick instead of some other team that swindled us. I'm with Nalod on this one! We need to tank like it was going out of style.

The only way to tank if by playing the guys who will not buy in and have no future with this team. Amare, Bargs & JR

The only real "plan" that would make sense would be to get rid of Melo.

Phil's biggest mistake he didn't bother to

Entertain what "Get Rid Of Melo" value was

He had a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card

But instead rolled over on his cot and let

Out of shape Bubba pillage his backside

I do not believe Phil has any MRSAT data-Pingers etc etc that tells him

What players are gonna work in this system with Melo

Over the next 3-4yrs, because quite honestly there aren't any

Then to top it off he's trading away the GOLD bro

Anyway, I agree. Melo is a giant POS. But NYC is full of buttlicking fools and Dolan is a fool, so its a marriage made in heaven (for fool fans and fool owners).

75% of the fans are so desperate for anything that resembles a star they will forgive just about anything, including the sad realities that their star has a BB IQ about one step above Amare's, they are a Me First player in every way and they are a duplicitous money-grubbing bastard who gets away with mouthing fake pieties to the mics about teamwork when he is really just a big douche all about the money.

But hey that's why Dolan is smarter than most of the fans, because he just gives them what they want. And they got it.

I agree Phil is just Dolan redux and it is not money ball, but it is money and they're having a ball playing their gee-tars with dem Eagles and reading Zen poems in Santa Barbara.

It kills me how dudes that probably couldn't do a successful push-up can go and call one of the fittest athletes in the league an "outta shapp bubba".

I will put this here because I don't want to start a thread on it. Paul Milsap would be perfect in the triangle after thinking about what Acy was asked to do.

Anyway carry on with the whining about how Phil 7 months on the job isn't doing it your way.

Huh? Melo has been here for years. He is a giant douche.

But I do agree entirely with TT that Phil is exactly the same Dolan pattern as before. Make the publicity gathering signing and rake in the dough. Whether Phil can make it work or not is not clear yet, but as TT said, it is already tainted by a fake philosophy which is all about buying time, not building teams.

Re-signing Melo was retarded, but I knew that was the box Phil walked into so I don't get too worked up about it. I'm already resigned to this franchise not getting over the hump as long as Dolan owns it. Phil really is old and on his last gig. This is not a long-term solution but another fancy band-aid ultimately.

I tried to believe, but I just can't. It's no more real to me than saluting the U.S. Flag and pledging allegiance. It's mostly a hoax. And there are a lot of suckers, so it was a good play by Dolan who is not as dumb as he sounds and looks.
