I would take him over Melo. More dynamic when his head is screwed in

There in lies the problem- his head hasn't been screwed in for the entirety of the past 2 seasons, and was only intermittently screwed in the couple of seasons before those! He was great for a while with the Hawks, but he lost it so much in Detroit I'm really not sure he'll get it all (or even most of it) back.

One player we might want to consider when we rebuild the team for next year -- Lavoy Allen. Was watch the Pacers/Nets game last night -- this dude's somewhere around 6'10" 250 and very serviceable. Good mobility/agility for a guy that big, he rebounds, isn't afraid to body up on guys, and he's pretty darned skilled on the offensive end -- very good jump-shooter with range all the way out to 3 (I think his shooting touch is good enough to eventually incorporate the 3-ball as part of his regular attack a-la Mike Scott/Channing Frye), he's very adept on the pick & pop (capable shooter anywhere in the mid-range) and he's got a decent enough post-up game with effective hook shots over each shoulder. Plays pretty good post defense too from what I can see...I think he'd bring more physicality than Jason Smith (might be just as good a shooter) and better overall health/youth than Amar'e plus I think he'd come cheaper than either guy. Dude really reminds me a lot of Kurt Thomas -- nothing flashy but the same solid jump-shooting, a little post-up and solid post defense...Lavoy Allen and Donald Sloan (a sturdy, skilled 6'3" PG that may not play a lot now that George Hill made it back into the Pacer's lineup) are definitely two serviceable Indiana players we might be able to get next year at a good price.

I like Allen a lot. He always gave Tyson fits. He was putting up really good numbers with not a lot of minutes.

Nice signing by them. Aside from Scott and Kobe I like what they are doing. Getting Boozer. Getting a first, and a second to take on Lin in an audition type scenario, getting Ellington etc. They seem to be doing a nice job finding treasures from others trash.

Don't need to pay Mitch Kup a proven GM $60mil to do so

Nor pay Byron Scott and proven Finals coach $25mil to do so

There is no cap for executives or coaches. Also, I think Scott is a really bad coach.

Don't care about coaching executive financial caps

Once again on your trivial I care if they are living up to their pay

Fisher asked Scott's bad coaching out on a date

Not good hopefully he has a plan to back out of it
