If anyone has seen him, he's huge yet very nimble with long arms. I would not be surprised if he ends up a franchise type player. Hes very gifted in the post and uses his immense body surprising agility/mobility to rebound score defend very very well. I see him eventually being the dominant C in the game over the next 3 years.

Did they draft him with our pick?

I believe our pick actually went to Orlando as it was the lesser of Denver's two lottery picks. I may be wrong here but that's what I rememebr.

You're right. Orlando drafted Dario Saric with our pick. Nurkic was drafted using one of the Bulls picks Chicago traded for McDermott.

Thanks guys, but that hurts more:

That said, looking forward to the season and finally having our own lotto pick!

hes a nice prospect. i wouldnt call him the best rookie in preseason though #jabari
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

+1. The knock on him when he got drafted was that he was a poor passer and had poor spatial awareness but none of that seemed to be the case during the preseason. I was actually pretty impressed with his abilities in both respects as well as with his overall game. Not to cry over spilled milk but had we rightfully dealt Melo to Chicago, Nurkic (and Gary Harris) would've been my pick(s).

Maybe a better version of Omir Asik

Already commented on him a few games back

He'd easily displace all bigs on our team

Possibly even Daly, he's that good a find

Asik doesn't really have offensive ability. Nurkic is already a concern for other teams on that end. I think his trajectory is Marc Gasol.

Quite possibly so, he's not polished offensively yet

Has a good base skillset and good feel for game

I was looking at his defense and rebounding ability rate

But I do not disagree with a Marc Gasol comparison

I see Nikola Pecovic, a below the rim brute with a soft touch and questionable defense. I think he can develoo into a 15 and 9 guy in four years..

On Monday, Nuggets coach Brian Shaw was asked what has surprised him most this preseason.

These things, he said: “I would say (Jusuf) Nurkic is the biggest surprise, pleasant surprise.

You are right. Pek is a far better comparison but I don't think Nurkic's defense is questionable. The kid's game is on point.

Fair points. Time will tell how he develops. I'm intrigued with his skillset though.

I think Finestrng got it right with Spencer Dinwiddie. He wouldve been a top 18 pick if he didnt hurt his knee. No matter where picked a 6-6 skilled PG should do well in the NBA and he's my pick for the steal of round 2.

Hey Briggs Denver got Nurkic

By trading a lottery 1st and moving down to get

Two first I believe pick 11 for 16 and 19

That's what you do when you're sitting on plenty assets
