I actually like both guys-
Not sure what the deal was with Clark last year--I thought he played well for us when called upon. Very surprised he got waived and wasn't signed for the rest of the year...Dude's 6'9"-ish 225, can play both forward spots (he's really a big 3) and he's got some nice talent on the offensive end. No real room for him on our current roster (or is there? Is he a better option over Travis Outlaw? I think so but then again, I think they wanna keep Outlaw's contract for the time being for future trade purposes. That and $3mm is a lot to ask your owner to simply waive) but I'm actually surprised he's having trouble sticking.
I'm still high on Whiteside. I dunno man -- a guy that big that's clearly athletic, can rebound, possesses great shot-blocking instincts and can hit the mid-range jumper---those guys don't grow on trees. He even shows some upside as a post player..I'm shocked that no one has committed to developing this guy by now. I mean he was solid with a lot of promise coming out of Marshall (I had him in the lottery that year), good in the DL (and that's with sporadic playing time on a couple of different teams) and he went over and did at least one tour in China and dominated. If he's willing, I'd scoop this kid up for Westchester with a legit chance to be in the mix for a spot on our 15-man next year. I like him a whole lot better than Jerome Jordan for example...2 young centers that I'd really take a chance on -- Hassan Whiteside and Daniel Orton. Is Orton still with Washington or did they cut him?
Speaking of Memphis -- do they still have Kalin Lucas? Another player I'm interested in for the Westchester Knicks if he becomes available..
