I think this quote in particular underlines why Calderon is here:

Calderon maintains an open line of dialogue to get everyone on the same page. After calling plays, he tells his teammates what he was looking for in that instant so they know what do to the next time.

Some slammed me for saying Jose was considered a good leader and locker room presence! He is an improvement over what we've had in so many ways. It's this aspect of his character that Phil wanted and Fish needs. There has to be a brain on the floor and a communicator. This is part of what I was highlighting with my thread about Phil, Fish and Jose being a key component for changing the culture of this team. Jose is also an excellent man for Larkin to learn from.
