Back in the day the Yankees/Royals had a great rivalry with the Yanks getting the best of them until 1985. After the A's dynasty the Royals lead by George Brett seemingly would give the Yanks a fit in the AL playoffs with some classic series played.

Their first playoff win this week was the last since 1985!

KC was smart in 1973, when most cities were building one big all purpose donut shaped stadium they built two, one each for football and Baseball. The site lines were great and those buildings need only be renovated over the years to stay modern. Much less cost than having to build two new structures!

Anyway its good to see Kansas City Enjoy the drama of their "small market" team
Slay the bloated salary Angels and move to the next round to meet another who has not seen post season in many years.

If the yankees/Mets are not in it I find it refreshing to see some new teams compete!

Yeah, I live in Maryland where half the state are yankee fans. As much as I'm a die hard yankee fan, and the O's are in our division, I can't help but show a little support for them. The day the O's hired Buck, I watched his press conference and I could tell right from the start that the O's were going to be a serious threat in the division.

I wish both of these teams lots of luck.
