As a precaution because of his knees......

my problem is....if guys are healthier and/or out working him in practice....Amare should not play over them. It doesn't matter that Amare can score. He can't rebound or play defense. We need healthy guys out there playing hard. We can't continue to babysit this mofo.

Bargs can't rebound, play defense or score, but you'd rather give him minutes?!

We're hardly babysitting Amar'e- he has degenerative knees, it's not his fault.

STAT is more than just scoring in that when he is going right he is so efficient. Because he can score in the post and the midrange it just makes the time he's on the floor impactful if the system can take advantage of it. I think this offense can make good use of such a versatile big.

We're gonna use our other bigs a lot anyway so it doesn't hurt us if STAT gets precautionary rest. To be honest it's a non issue on a relatively deep team. Phil believes in an interchangeable roster and that's what we have now. We're deep at every position. It has no ill effect if STAT gets rest. It merely opens up time for other players.

If Bargs is practicing fully then yes Bargs should get more playing time.....if his knees are shot he should retire.

I have it out for Amare because we can't have a guy that you are relying on to be in and out for precaution. He needs to be available every game. If all our big men are healthy then they need a legit chance to play. How does a team succeed when the message is...no matter how hard you play you will not get to play over this unhealthy, part time practice player.

I will be highly upset if the season starts and Amare is awarded days off especially when we need him out there. This can not be....I would rather see Greg Kite play if he was practicing hard and available to play 82 plus games.

Amare will be gone in a few months. Preferably after the season. Don't need to take on bad contracts. No need to sweat

Iverson was ridiculed and punished for his views on practice.....yet in 2014 its ok for a guy to play in practice and games when he feels like it....no good and I cant get behind that

Dude the medical staff told him to shut it down, if it was up to him he wouldn't have missed a second of practice. He wants to play all 82 and avg 30-35 minutes a game..but the knicks and their med staff is like IDK about that one buddy..

THe common assumption is "Held Back" twarts progress. Last year he was limited in his minutes and as the season progressed fans were saying "he should have been playing more!!!"

Maybe he played well and progressed because he WAS HELD BACK!!!!!
Im sure Amare wants to play more and he'll verbalize all the cool warrior talk to make us think "Its not him, its the Medical staff!!!"

Amare's body is shot. He can't play starters max minutes. I like the guy and hope he plays at an all star level!!! But we are not resigning him for big money.
He can join Lebron in Cleveland next year, or with the clippers and maybe chase a ring with some superfriends.

IMO it's worth having a player who can produce this way if only we take care not to run him down. It's not about just having guys who can grind it out. Just look at the Bulls. Thibs is great but he literally grinds down his players!!! Meanwhile the current champs don't do this at all!!! We have depth so let's use it.

should Tim Duncan retire? Dirk? Derrick Rose? injuries are a part of this sport. The key isn't to ban any players who are an injury risk like they have leprosy but rather to work with the medical staff and develop a conditioning and minutes plan that'll help you maximize on your investment of the player. that's exactly what the knicks are doing. you're living in some fairy tale world where you can cut a 6 time allstar and expect the next guy up in the rotation to produce his kind of numbers on a nightly basis. the knicks are dealing with facts, stat is the most talented forward on the roster with the exception of melo that's why he's making $23 mil this season but he's also a injury risk so they're limiting his minutes both in game and during practices.

trust the kristaps-cess!

That is a tough one. The doctors in Phoenix said his knees couldn't hold up to a max length deal. Also, his knees are so bad that he couldn't have his deal insured. Not his fault that the Knicks overpaid. The Knicks outbid themselves with him.
