Truly was one of the most amazing endings to anything I've ever seen in my life. And he did it "his way" too -- opposite field line drive base hit, this time to win the ball game and put an exclamation point on a fabulous career. How 'bout wishing the Orioles well in the playoffs after the game -- pure Jeterian class...It was a privilege watching this man go about his business for all these years. RE2PECT and thank you.

After Robertson blew the save and I saw Jeter was up 3rd then the kid got on base you just knew Jeter was going to win the game. What a perfect ending man!

J tee rises to the occasion. The game slows down for him during the bigger the moment. His 3000 hit, mr November, the flip play, Allstar games. Yesterday was icing on the cake. It goes for all the people who say he is overrated because they only look at his stats. That last game wining hit and final memory should shut those people up

Dissenting views are what makes for good media and while Jeets does not have the gaudy numbers that we come to expect when we adore a legend this guy was bigger than his position and bigger than his stats.

While the 4 titles in his 1st 5 years was amazing and he was on some very good teams (good players win together!!!)the man earned his strips being with Yanks his whole career (as Rivera and Posada!) and came up big in the big moments!!!

While A-rod was a Mariner/Ranger its too bad he could not have ended the era with some dramatic stat achievements as he was enroute to and closed out his career in some (Lessor) grand fashion.

I saw it with my family. My dad screamed like a school kid. Pretty amazing. It was like watching a movie

I'll take Bernie over Posada anyday.

It still pisses me off when Bernie is not included in the core whatever. So stupid. He was the first one to come aboard and the most clutch. Best post season performer probably in yankees history

COMPLETELY AGREE. Leaving Bernie out of that group is rediculous. Always has been...I think the thought process is that he came a few years before these guys but whatever man, don't penalize and exclude him for that. To me, it's always been "the core five." Case closed.

Yep. It seems there is some kind of resentment from the Steinbrenners towards Bernie and how his exit went down. Whatever it was its just not right

I'd rather have Bernie & O'Neill than Posada & Pettitte.

Those 2 were my favorite.

They should all be included but I agree Bernie was a better yankee than posada and Andy left to Houston. So stupid

It would have been a lot better if we were clinching a playoff berth, none-the-less, it makes for a great story for one of the greatest athletes in the history sports, ultimate professional on every level.

On another note, it was hard to watch Jeter hit into so many double plays this season, almost brutal..smh

Yea I'm way more into the Giants than the Yankees these days but I stuck with the Yankees game for the majority of the night. It was special. I wanted to take it all in. The cheers and every single at bat especially if he was to do something special and boy did he ever!
