He had two strong seasons to start his career and seemed poised to become a noteworthy big man in the league. In my opinion, he resembled everything that Channing Frye was suppose to be and everything that Joe Smith (former no.1 overall pick) was. Then DeMarcus Cousins was drafted in 2010 and Thompson faded into obscurity. At 6"11' with an ability to put the ball on the floor, shoot a mid-range jumper and a soft touch around the rim, I'd be interested in trading for him to see if a change of scenery would do him well. At the very least, I think he can post a 13ppg and 9rpg season like he did during the 2009-2010. If he's a starter and is being featured, I think he'd be close to 17ppg and 11rpg. Am I crazy? Or is this guy someone to keep an eye on?

I've always wondered about why he hasn't emerged as a solid, if unspectacular, starter. Have not watched him too often (enough to see that he has some talent), but have noticed his numbers over the years. He's had stretches of statistical consistency, and yet there are many times when he has disappeared.

Might be a guy who does best when there are no big expectations put on him and he is on a team that is willing to give him 30+MPG and plays team ball.

Poor coaches, terrible franchise, the wrong teammates, work ethic, lack of confidence... who know what his problem is? I just expected him to progress differently as a player based on his first 2 years.

I think Sacramento wasted a few if his best years by forcing him to play center. Plus, Sacramento always seems to sign or draft who plays the same position. That said, he still looks like a solid NBA four. He'd be a good fit for us if he made about $5M less.

It's a poor culture for a player like him to develop. In san antonio, for example, he would be that noteworthy big man capable of starting for a championship team. I would love to get him on the Knicks.

He was actually a reach when they drafted him #12 in 2008. I remember him being a 2nd rounder on alot of boards. But he had a good rookie year and I was surprised, but sometimes players like that just come down to Earth.

Rudy Gay/Derrick Williams playing the SF/PF happened on top of the mess of the King's
I think Jason Thompson is quite under rated, however, he is a role player, but we need to utilize our cap space wiseley

King's messed up by not drafting

PF/C Andre Drummond *would have been great with Cousins*
PG/SG Lilliard

*trading down from pick 6, possibly for 3 picks*

Instead going for undersized PF in Thomas Robinson
Tony Wroten

G/F SF Harrison Barnes/Draymond Green

Jeremy Lamb
Terrence Ross *Raptors*
Terence Jones *Houston*

Jarred Sullinger
Kris Middleton
Quincy Acey

Jeffrey Taylor

For Knick's
If Rose gets injured and Noah wants out, forcing a trade like Love did to Cleveland to play with CA and the Triangle *where he would excel in*
If we can Durant/Lebron, that would be great, but if not, Rudy Gay at PF on a much lower contract
Rudy Gay was on TEAM USA for a reason and has great size/athleticism to go with it
He has the tools to be a lockdown defender, with the ability to defend 3-4 positions if needed

while trading for David Lee with expirings contracts and 2nd round picks, 2018 and after
Lee would fit great in the Triangle and could be comparable to Odom in some sense
Faried would be like a Rodman without the negatives but he will not be available especially after FIBA and the respect/confidence gained

And/or get Rudy Gay if we are unable to acquire Lebron/Durant somehow
We simply do not want CA defending these type of #1 players but we also need this SF/PF to be able to do many things, be versatile/skilled, and fit in

Gay has the ability to defend these players because of his size/athleticism/strength/and length
In my opinion from what I saw of him in Team USA, he lossed much speed/quickness but gained much strength, making him more of PF
But he has the skills to play SG/SF/PF, and he was dominant at the SG position in his younger years

Tony Wroten
Calderon
CA
David Lee or Rudy Gay
Noah

Larkin *if isn't traded*
Tenacious/ ONE OF OUR CURRENT SG's
Early
David Lee or Gay
Cole Aldrich

Randy Foye
Darko
Jamalle Haggins/Quincy Acy

Maybe keep one of our SG's, however, if we can get good value in trading all 3, I do not mind it one bit with all these talents available in addition to Tenacious

Marion/Barnes/Darrius Morris/Gereld Green/Brandon Rush
A stretch 4/5 maybe Copeland/ maybe Byron Mullens, or a cheap resigned AB
Though I feel we need a SHOOTER like Copeland who excelled in MSG though lacks speed/athleticism,
I really like the guy, Damjan Rudez, that was signed by Pacer's that plays SF, I think he will be a steal, maybe Joe Ingles or Turkeglu?
I think Damjan Rudez, is comparable to Peja and Turkeglu with a very good handle a good athleticism/size, though lacks some speed but has quickness

Phil always used stretch 4's
Phil Jackson had Kukoc, in the Bull's
Robert Horry on The Lakers
then Ariza/Odom/Gasol, then MWP, in addition to Bynum, they had a very versatile taletned roster that had great chemistry after years of working the Triangle

So move 2/3 SG's, especially to gain assets, and cut salaries to go with Pablo

Iman Shumpert - If we do not move him, I would give him a 2-3 year low salary deal, team options if we have leverage if not give him a player option, his contract would be in the range of about 2m to 3.5m *max*
JR Smith *hopefully we can sell high, just be a set shooter/similar to Ray Allen lowering his usuage/role as he got older, stop the dribble dribble/step back jumper*
TIm Hardaway JR *makes the least but likely will have the highest trade value as well*

Nba is all abiut confidence and opportunity. Sacramento killed both for Jason Thompson. He also signed s super long contact that made him untradeable.
