Clippers trade: Elton Brand
Knicks trade: Stephon Marbury

I think this trade could happen because the knicks really need a low post scorere/defender and at the point we do have Frank. As for the clippers they really need a pg and already have the #2 pick and chris wilcox so there really in't any need 4 brand. Steph also is the kind of entertaining player who puts fans in the stands that the clips r looking 4.

thoughts?

Don't really think Isiah would do that, as he's made Stef his protege and is really trying to take Marbury to the next level.

I know Sweetney won't be the next Elton Brand, but let's not just give up on him at this point. He might be an effective 15/10 guy in a year or so.

Marbury is probably the most talented PG in the game. Are you willing to give that up for Elton Brand? Don't get me wrong, Elton is a very good PF but Marbury will probably be the best at his position in a couple of years. I would only trade Marbury if we get Shaq, Duncan, or Garnett in return.

That's a good point. With Kidd's injuries bringing him down and the tutelage of Marbury under Isiah, I think it's safe to say in 2 years Marbury will be the best PG in the game. Especially when the Knicks are built to cater to Marbury like the Nets were once Kidd got there.

ya, there really isn't a point long term to trading Stephon. It would be better if we could get Eric Dampier who from what he's said sounds like he might sign fo the midlevel.

Yea I'm praying that we somehow are able to land Dampier at the MLE, that would be a huge pickup. He would not only give us a big man with a low post presence that can play good defense, but he would also give us flexibility to trade Nazr Mohammed for a first-round pick or something else.

Elton Brand isn't good enough for Marbury even up. No way. We need Rasheed, someone with length and size, not Brand who is good but undersized and not uptempo for guys like Tim Thomas and Houston. He would be a bad fit and only a little better than Sweets right now. Sweets may be better than him in a couple of years. Nyet to this one.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

You can't trade Marbury for Brand.......it makes more sense to have both then trade one for another. It might be a trade the Clippers do.

I want to win with Marbury anyway. We gotta get him a bigman to call his own. Someone to feed.

& what about Sweetney? do you think Isiah would trade Marbury, the player he's hung his entire reputation on as a GM for the Knicks, for a talented PF when they already have a young PF they want to develop for the future?

ya, like i said i think it would prob. be much better to try and sign Damp to the midlevel. One player who i do think could be worth goin 4 is jason richardson. usualy i would say there is no chance 4 the knicks to get him but i saw on espn.com that the warriors were down on him & just want to open the spot up for pietrus. They need a big since they r losing both damp & adonal & the knicks have some bigs they can offer.

exactly, but not only that, steph could get you more than brand alone, if you trade steph you better include him in a deal that gets you Kobe or Garnett or someone like that...
