Knicks player development coach Chris Brickley was tasked with putting the workouts together. Brickley, a former Louisville player, has developed a strong rapport with many Knicks veterans, including Smith and Anthony, and is well-regarded for his work with players. So Anthony turned to Brickley to find enough NBA talent to put together a quality workout at his gym.

People will not like him because of his connections. He played with Chris Smith so JR vouched for him.

I follow the dude on instagram. Dude is in his mid 20s. If the players like him and he's doing a good job then that's good. He posts his number on the all the time and apparently gives workouts at Melos gym for a fee.

He was the trainer working with Iman earlier in the year. If Phil approves cool. I hope he is good at his job and gets results.

Was he on the staff last year? Also, interesting that Murry is still around. I am not sure that he is signing with Utah after they signed Dee Bost.

Seems like he's been around at least a year. Saw a post from 11 months ago mentioning him being hired by the Knicks. I didn't see an exact hire date tho and perhaps he was demonstrating his skills for a while before they actually hired him full time.

The Knicks have done a terrible job of listing exactly who is on the staff. I suppose we'll slowly learn about other guys doing specific tasks like video etc.

I take it he has Phils seal of approaval. Sometimes players get their own guy on the teams Dime as a sort of perk. It circumvents the cap.

This signing is similar to the shooting coach we hired

A year or two ago

Not sure if that paid huge dividends

Won't make a big deal of it

Because in the end the players are going to be

Who they are going to be

This seems like a come up for Brickley

More than anything else

It's up to the players to put in the work, but a coach can help a player improve his form and technique in different facets of the game. If a player has the ability and is just making technical mistakes then a coach can help that player to improve. It's not for nothing that you see players come into the league with no shot and then later they turn into reliable shooters. It happens all the time you just don't focus on it. Of course there is a point of diminishing returns as any player reaches the limits of his abilities. Still doesn't make it not a big deal.

Chris Paul came into the league not being a good shooter and progressively improved. I'm pretty sure some coaching was involved in helping him improve.

he works with everyone not just vets. I imagine it is a low level job as he follows the directives from the senior staff members. It maybe what you said or he maybe good at his job.
