Personally I'm not worrying whether the upcoming season is not a success in terms of wins and losses. Whichever way it goes, hopefully it'll be a learning experience for the yoots and an adjustment or catalyzing experience for the vets and Carmelo. We can see who can cut it and who cannot. We can see which yoots we can stick with and which ones to move for better fitting pieces or assets.
We have to remember as much as we all have high hopes for Fisher and as much as he talks a great game and seems to check all the boxes for future great coach id imagine it is still a big adjustment going from the bench to the floor. There will probably be bumps. There will also likely he bumps with Anthony easing into the new system even though for now he is saying he is getting board. That would be great news because he has certainly never fully played as well as he is capable when it comes to getting teammates involved and using his skills to be a more team oriented offense. Essentially, we need Olympic Melo all the time but instead of aging alongside Lebron and Durant he has JR and Jason Smith, etc. It's not going to be easy for him, I imagine.
But anyway, even if everything possible goes wrong strictly in regards to making the playoffs and making noise in the east the season can be a success IF the team makes strides and develops and gets experience playing under the new system under the new regime with a new focus.
The cherry on top is the lottery pick and the 20+ million in cap space coming after next season. The future can be very bright if things go right. Not a certainty, but we have reason to hope.
