would love to see a retro version of the showtime Lakers' offense against the bad boy Pistons' defense in the finals?

Should be good, there are some really good matchups.

I don't know who they put on Kobe though, maybe Tayshaun?

kobe will be a pain for the pistons. neither prince nor hamilton is bulked enough to guard him. As they need rip's offense, I'm sure they'll put prince on bryant.

good point for the pistons is that the paint will be kind of locked as both wallaces ar good help defenders.

could be interesting.

Yea I have also been waiting for a Lakers-Pistons Finals, it would be a great series.

i'm sure the lakers won't sweep the east this time. If it works well for them, it's 4-2. Gonna be a war.

Yeah....Lakers and Pistons would be hell. Just great basketball for once. Since the Knicks got to the finals the NBA has been boring. This year has been great....there have been alot of superhuman plays and games this time around.

I think Indiana is done but if Sam-I-Am can overcome injury the series is far from over.

I just love good basketball.

That's an understatement! The Pistons can clog the middle better than any team I've seen in several years!

A lot of you guys have been saying you're *expecting* or *waiting* for a Lakers-Pistons finals. I still get the impression that I'm the only one who's been *hoping* for that matchup. At some point in the 2nd round, I decided that I would love to see that matchup, whereas most people were talking about how much they hate the Lakers and want the T-Wolves to make the finals.

I'll take anyone winning but the Lakers. I don't want the two chumps Payton and Malone to get the ring. I think what they did to the NBA and rest of the players is wrong they sold out. I know alot of you on the board like to tsay the Yankees do it all the time getting superstars and all but they pay for their players. No one comes to the Yankees for free. What Payton and malone did was wrong and against all things that stand for competition.

I agree i would love to see certain matchups if Pistons and Lakers show but I wouldn't be to disappointed if the Wolves beat the Lakers.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the Lakers and Pistons are a lock for the finals but I really feel that these two teams will meet in the finals (I even predicted it right before the playoffs). I know that both Minnesota and Indiana still have a shot at advancing but I don't think either of them will win their series. Plus, when I said "waiting" I didn't mean it as I was expecting the Lakers and Pistons to play in the Finals. What I really meant was that I have been hoping that these two teams are gonna meet in the Finals. I meant it in a good way, thats why I said "it would be a great series."

I agree with VMart. MAlone and PAyton went to a team they knew had won and would win again. Thats like chumps lioke Madsen or the Purdue sof thsi world having rings for being on the right team. If they wanted respect, go win a ring with a team thats close but not yet gone there, the Pistons, Pacers, Mavs, Kins, Wolves, then if you win with them it's been earned.

Actually, if I were Patrick Ewing, I would have done what Payton and Malone are doing.

When you aren't the main man on the team the luster of the ring isn't as bright. If Malone and Payton did it with the Jazz and seattle then it would really have meant something more special. I have more respect for what Ewing, Stockton, Barkley did than Malone and Payton. Thats not the way to the ring especially if a player was the main man on his team in which Malone's and Payton's case were. I wouldn't have minded so much had Lakers had to work to get them but they came gift wrapped without so much as a tough negotiations or making LA think about the cap or what not. Other teams have to struggle to get talent these guys broke every rule in order to get their championship. For that I can't stand to see these two ring beggars win.

I feel that Malone and Payton probably work extremely hard and deserve the rings that they may get this year. You don't have to score 30PPG to have earned the ring
