I almost treated myself to a courtside seat for $800. Its on the bucketlist. Problem is if the game sucks its not a great experience.
Anyway I doubt that opportunity does not come around again. It was on Stubhub and it came and went pretty quickly. It was just one ticket. I never go to a game alone and really think of it as a social event.
I have been to an NBA game in Boston, ATL, Miami, and charlotte, and of course the Nets when they were in Jersey, none of those arena's the could come close to the energy in MSG even when we won 23 games with larry brown.
MSG is a special place to watch a game, and NYKER's are all over the globe
Very true.
I have not been to MSG in about 8 years to see a knick game. My first game as a wee lad was in 1971 and when my uncle died in July of 1973 so went the season tix. It was a tragic death to my family and always grateful he introduced me to basketball and the knicks.
Those games were magic and the crowd was really into it.
Everything else seems like ignorant homerism with dumb fans arguing dumb calls. Im doing the "Back in the day" rant here, but iM actually glad the new rules of arguing with refs is keeping taunting, preening, glaring and arguing way down. Dumb ass JR smith engaged with refs while play blows by him is way too much in my book.
Which leads me to Clyde. The man never argued a call, never got confronted a player or lost it. He discussed this in his book years ago that he was not into expending the energy and wasting his time. As a leader he got angry and but would refocus on the task and winning was the ultimate revenge. he might do more to embarrass a player to prove his point.
As a kid I had a bad temper on the basketball court and eventually got to be "Cool like clyde" as it worked better. The refs were more respectful and would talk to you if you showed them respect first. I think clyde did well. Leadership has many faces and being "cool" is one of them. When your leader loses it sometimes a team will melt down around him.
Seems when the knicks are relevant the garden is buzzing. Looks like Golden state has great fans too!
Lakers are on too much. Its a Kobe thing. With knicks, its a Melo thing. Ratings are what count.
Two years ago I got League pass but not last year. I might spring for it this year. Cleveland will be interesting but Im sure they will be on plenty. I do follow the Nets some and sure as hell would love to see all the knick-Net games this year.
