My prayers are out to Paul George who just got injured during the USA Blue and White Scrimmage. It was pretty bad looking. Sad to see.

Man...wouldn't wish this on any player.

Very ugly injury!

Man he was pretty calm but he's done for a long while

This is part of the reasons guys don't want to participate in these games.

Unfortunate, hope he has a full recovery

They have to do something about the basket stanchion and press on the baseline.

Prayers out to Paul george. Looks like he has suffered a serious leg fracture (similar to that Louisville kid a few yrs ago). I know he's a pacer but I don't wish that on anyone
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

All that talk about max contract..just play ball and stay healthy, sorry to hear what happen to him,damn...never wish injury on no one, but this is what it is. We as fans try to predict the future but this game is bound to have injuries, your never to deep, and always a injury away from a lost season..

I didn't even notice it live but I saw Cousins I think jumping up on the sideline and knew it wasn't good.

Edit: Wow, Brian Windhorst is reporting the stanchion was actually 2ft+ closer than normal.

This is why players like Melo takes close to the max. You never know what can happen during a basketball game.

Damn, I hope this isn't the best/last we ever see of him because he seemed poised to turn a corner. They need to start paying these guys to play; the risk for something like this happening is too high for them not to be compensated ahead of time.

I never understand why they would make a Basketball Stanchion that doesn't have a very deep base away from the court. So many players land under the basket in that spot and need room to land. Look at how much space is under the Knicks basket at MSG. You don't have to watch the whole video.

ESPN did a report on why it was closer than normal. To keep it short the arena is too small and it does not accommodate the space needed for the NBA stanchions. This is why the NBA said it can never have a team in Vegas.

Also, the sheer force necessary to do that to bone shows just how much stress these guys put on their bodies. You gotta respect those who can play 82 games, constantly making those kinds of moves. Younger guys need to watch this and understand why the fundamentals are so important; the less athleticism you can use on a given play, the better.

That's sick sick sick. The basket expansion was WAY WAY to far out. I would not risk my multi million $ career on amateur basketball--the reason why that leg broke was that basket positioning--that would not have happened with NBA regulation hoop. That was horrible--if me--Im audi out of that tourney. If Im an owner my player is out etc... why does Derek Rose play for this and not the paying fans ---this was going to happen and boy was it fcking bad.

This injury is the worst I have seen since Shaun Livingston's injury.
I hope he is able to recover but he is likely out for the season and perhaps may never fully be the player he once was.

he has a max deal so you can't feel that bad for him....its 2014...he should bounce back eventually.

Indiana lost Lance to free agency and now Paul George to this freak injury....they are toast now. They might need to dump guys now. If I was Larry Bird, as soon as this settles in...I would look to dump salary and prepare the team for when Paul George comes back....best believe he will eventually.

Kind've ****ed up....but an unprotected 2015 first rounder from Indiana would be looking pretty good right about now. I could see them offloading George Hill, David West and Roy Hibbert though, all of whom we could use and are imminently available. This is yet another Indiana team that had it's contender status cut short (I'm thinking of Jermaine O'Neal-Ron Artest era).

well it's a business as they say....Indiana could use a high pick now and they could use cap space going forward.....

the Knicks need David West to protect Melo inside....Hibbert sucks but he could be used as well.....the kinda obvious deal is Amare and Shump for West and Hibbert.

Indiana reloads and the Knicks man up....

This is a legit theory because Paul George is gonna be out a season and a half at least. If they can tank a little next season and make a free agent signing, they can reinvent the franchise behind a stellar rookie and a blue chip free agent to pair with Paul on his comeback tour.
