I think he was holding back in SL. He's a smart player and will stay in the flow rather than break the play just to show off. Let's see how he looks after a full Training Camp and a few months in the NBA. He's got a sweet stroke and good height on his jumper. He was working on his handle and dribble drive before the draft and i'm sure he's still working on that now. If he improves the mechanics on his jumper and becomes an efficient shooter he will not need to be a very skilled dribbler. This offense will help a player like him and he can continue being a two dribble rim attacker coming off screens and cuts. The worst part of his game I saw was entry passing. |

His jumper looks funny but he bangs that thing. His shooting is the one part of his game I'm least concerned with. I just like his mental disposition. He's a smart kid and he's a very good natured kid. All of our young players have a certain joy for the game and easy going nature. Early, THJ, Larkin, Thanasis and Tyler are all good kids and bright enough to really be good in a system like the Triangle. I can see that Phil likes those types of kids. |

![]() Nice little video.
That step back jumper of his will be a signature shot, I would think. Like to see him use the backboard on some of his shorter jump shots- it will compensate for the fact that the arch on his jumper is not ideal. Also has to work on his left had when going to the basket. Almost looks like he lost weight from the time of the video to the SL. The guy analyzing Early at the end of the video seemed to mention many things we have not yet seen from him in the short time he has been a Knick. Gives you hope that we don't know his full game, yet. A nice pick-up. Like Hardaway, we might have another player who should have gone sooner in the draft. Hopefully they keep him around and he has a chance to grow. EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I really wasn't talking about his upper body mechanics, I was more concern with his lower body mechanics. Sometimes it get all over the place on catch and shoots. He will get the help he need with that though he just has to put in the work. |

![]() I like that he didn't try to do too much in Summer League, and seemed to play within the system- I know that's left people worried about his ability to drive etc, but it was nice to have a rookie not play hero ball and try to dominate all the time.

![]() I'm excited by the possibility of Early developing under Fish and Phil. As well as our other young guys. It makes such a difference in the approach to the game these players will have. Just think of how Kawhi has been developed under Pop.

We have a new culture that is being established and should remain for a good while. The spurs have been doing it their way for a LOOOOOONG time now. I have hopes that we can see this team develop a winning culture of team 1st and prolonged success. |
