Yeah, if they were to play the season 40 times, I don't think the Knicks would win the championship in one of them.

Nope. Vegas NBA season predictions are pointless and and probably put together by Peoe who don't know the ins and outs of the league nearly as well as the metric folks

Now football is different

I know the Pelicans wont win the title but that team looks poised to have a breakout season. That team is pretty talented. They need to get themselves a real SF but they have some trade pieces to get it done. They have a glut of talented guards

A Davis
Evans
Gordon
Holiday

Yeah, adding Calderon doesn't push us from the 19th to the 12th best team. It's crazy

I think management stability, coaching stability, better health, and better chemistry factors in as well.

Those are all questionable assumptions. A rookie coach? Older guys being healthier?

I disagree. Last year management did not support the coach at all and meddled and made it hard for him to do his job. Having management and the coaching staff on the same page a lone should account for more wins. Getting rid of malcontents and poor players and replacing them with guys that can play or don't miss an additional ten games each they are in NY due to injury or personal issues has to help. Playing in a system on offense should also benefit the team. Also, the fifteenth man is either Tyler or Brown at this point. That has to be better than Fisher being told it is Chris Smith.

I'm sure.
Chris Smith has been released by the Knicks' D-League affiliate Erie Bay Hawks.

J.R.'s brother was waived by the Knicks earlier this season after appearing in zero games. He reportedly left the Bay Hawks a few days before his release because he was upset with his playing time, and it's safe to assume that he won't join an NBA team in the near future. Mar 4 - 3:14 PM

I think Chris is out of basketball.

I didn't say he was wrong. I said they're uncertain assumptions.

I'd give 3-1 against the Cavs all day.
No way does Lebron just step in and take them all the way. That's just foolish.

the knicks are going to be a below-average defensive team... and there's no getting around that no matter the lineups and rotations. this already puts them in a hole, probably a five-loss hole, i'm guesstimating.

this means they are going to have to be a really good offensive team that accounts for 10-15 wins.

hence 46 wins and a first round appearance is realizable, and anything above that will be a great accomplishment. fisher's leadership will be the most crucial factor.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I'm going on record now. I am not blaming fisher for these roster issues and flaws. If we fail miserably I want to clean house

I would blame Phil to an extent with the realization that he is learning on the fly about being an NBA GM

98% of the blame on the roster

what do you think is happening right now?

Felton, Chandler already gone. We all know Bargs, Amare are gone after this year. JR would be gone if we could find a partner. Shump, if he doesn't show something VERY solid this year, may go for pick.

Whose left?

well it all comes down to one guy doesnt it? *THAT* guy is still here and some just cant see past that. Regardless your 100% right Martin. The house cleaning has already come and we are one offseason into it. We had a draft. We added prospects. We added parts that fit into the system that is being built... let it happen.

Stephen A. Smith said Philly would have taken Amar'e had we sweetened the deal a little more?

I wonder what prevented cleaning this part of the house

I would have done Thad-J-Rich for Amar'e-Smith-Hardaway-2nd rounder.

Maybe Gasol signs then

Rose being able to play through the season is just as questionable.

No doubt. But the fact that they were .600 without him and had a top 4 MVP candidate without him last year isn't questionable.
