5- Camby/Harrington
4- Thomas/Weatherspoon
3- Sprewell/LJ
2- Houston/Rice
1- Jackson/Ward

were still very good. camby is now more of a legitimate center. think about it, when he was 225 he still avged 11 rebs a game. now hes 245 and still hasnt lost speed or jumping ability. think how many rebs he can get now, and the fact that he bulked up to stay healthy throughtout a 82 game season. thomas is also a 10/10 guy when given the minutes. he and camby have a nice frontcourt chemistry working without a definitive low post prescense. sprewell and houston are good shooters, and rice can always provide upwards of 12-14 a night. jax and ward will be better with zones since dribble penetration and less isolationist plays will be more and more unimportant. i feel we have a great chance in the east, we have better lineups than a lot of other teams, but with teams with large small forwards were gonna hvae to put rice up. then guys liek kukoc and rahim wont murder spre as they have done before. i really like our chances and still feel that if we build around camby thomas and houston, well be fine. sprewell we definitely need, but goddamn why is he only 6 foot 5.....

I think we are in very good shape. The one thing we need to do is grab a pure back-up center who is a big upgrade over Knight and can give us 10-15 minutes a night. Someone like Matt Geiger, Greg Ostertag, or Kelvin Cato would be fine. The second thing we need to do is try to get an upgrade at point guard, but we aren't deprite. I heard New York has re-opened talks with Seattle regarding Gary Payton. They reportedly want to trade Vin Baker in the deal and thats the only way they will get rid of Payton. If we take Baker in the deal, they might give us those two for cheaper, which is what i'm hearing. Either way, i think we're in very good shape to make a good playoff run.

baker would be the guy to give us 12-15 minutes a night behind camby, and whenever someone goes down with injury we could have a big front court lineup with both baker and camby. but thats only if we could get payton and baker, and i dont know what we can do to get them.

You have to understand that Baker hates playing center and wouldn't like doing it in new york. He is not the guy to give you 12-15 minutes behind Camby because thats not his natural position. We need a center whos natural position is center and i'm sure there are a few out there we could get for cheap(Ostertag, Geiger, etc...)

very true but geiger demands shots/minutes, hence his unhappiness in philly with both mutombo and tyrone hill. now that tyrone hill is out, geiger will prob play pf and get what he wants, minutes/shots. and geiger aint exactly cheap to come by either, hes roughly 8-9mil/year. i thin baker woudl be fine in the east, theres no opposing or dominating bigman in teh east that compares to those of the west, in the west he had to go up against robinson, duncan, divac, sabonis, and of course shaq. int he east, yes there are quality centers in hakeem now, ervin johnson, and etc, but none as opposing as shaq. the best center now is mutombo, and possibly alonzo when he comes back. but down to it, baker would rather have a change in scenery and lose playing against shaq 4 times a year than jus sitting like a duck in seattle.
