I would take a chance on him. Good rebounder decent offense would be good insurance to have.

for the minimum. Otherwise this guy sux.

And if he would sign here, I would have a clause that voids his contract if he shoots the ball from beyond 8 feet.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I would too. I'm sure he would sign for the minimum as his money from the Bulls is guaranteed...However, there might be better opportunities out there for him like the Rockets....

Interesting. Career-wise, his WS is good.

the last 2 years his WS has plummeted

last year his TS was 49! As a PF - thats worse than awful

When Anthony was thinking about the Bulls, there were a number of reports/rumors that Jackson did not want to take him in a sign and trade. Was this because of his contract, or the way he plays the game and what Phil is looking for?

I think it was because he thought the owner wouldn't do a sign and trade unless Boozer was included.

Yeah i don't think it had anything to do with the player or his contract, more about getting the upper hand in case of any potential power struggle if he felt like Melo was trying to push his way to Chicago.

I am sure if the right assets were included he would have taken boozer.

I think that Phil wanted Carmelo on his team at all costs. He knows what he is capable of and believes that he would/could be the one to get Carmelo to just play the right way.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Don't we have to be under the cap in order to place a bid?

we can only bid if he clears waivers (which I don't think will happen)

Not to us. He will want to be somewhere he can get minutes and touches, put up 18/8 and sucker some team into giving him three years and $30mm and someone desperate for a big will

I'll pass.

No way to Boozer. His defense is Amare/Bargs levels of bad. Do we want the 3 worst defenders in the league on one team? The Bulls NEVER played him in the 4th unless forced to. If the Bulls can't cover his bad defense than we stand no chance.

Houston could use a PF....They've been the team with egg on its face this off season so I could see a desperate move like signing Boozer...

Boozer fits well in Houston. Who else can Houston go after at this point? Monroe? Bledsoe?
