has elyasova been dogging it lately? soviets are great at being crooked. but then the mighty melo needs a quality sub.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

We get rid of 2 possible 2015 salaries and gain a roster spot

Would you rather keep JR Smith and have a boatload of SG's?
At least it is one less player that you dislike on NYK's

With Pablo it is a horrible salary even if Ilyasova doesn't live up to his potential

Add in a 2nd round pick from the Buck's

Sign Sessions or Bayless with the Mini MLE or use part of it to sign Thiannis to a 3 year deal, while using the rest of it on another solid role player
If either will sign for about 2.5 (the rest of the MLE) the better

Would even consider Delfino if needed with Ellington's contract

Maybe Darius Morris to 2 year, vet min, team option partial guaranteed deal

I've always liked Ilyasova. He's got a lot of talent and I think he needs a change of scenery.

exactly, buying low while building a "winning culture" by subtracting a knucklehead that might or might not get back his physical abilities
Ilyasova had 1 horrible year, outside of that, he is a 40% 3pt shooter, a decent rebounder, is versatile at the 3/4 and defend 3 positions, and has long wingspan
Most importantly, he doesn't shoot bad shots, he moves the ball, and knows how to play HIGH IQ bball to spread the floor
He also knows how to move OFF the ball and would compliment CA and Calderon

Is this necessary. Let's not go there. Keep it on basketball.

Me I think I would do it if they were willing to give up Middleton and take on Amar'e contract. That's probably outrageous but I guess I could settle for Bargs to pick up the $4m TPE. Also, the only reasaon I would take a risk on Ilyasova is because his 3rd year has a team option on it so 2016 is still open.

maybe they can even add in Edoh and/or Jeff Adrien in sign and trades at about 4-5m TOTAL EACH for 3 year deals, maybe player/team options for year 3
Also they can also trade Sessions to us, saving our MLE
I really think we should sign Thiannis, needing his energy/DEF, but need to use an exemption to lock him up, so we don't get future poisoned pilled

adding in our expirings/fillers
Tyler, Ellington,

Would like to save our TPE though

With these moves I think we can get possibly likely get out of the 1st round, develop our young guns, and still have financial flexibility for 2015/16 and 2016/17
Problem would be our own 2015 1st rounder would be out of the lottory or less ping pong balls

One of the Kidd conspiracy theories:

According to a New York Post report, Kidd, still coach of the Nets at the time, wanted to trade Brook Lopez and Mirza Teletovic to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Larry Sanders and Ersan Ilyasova after Brooklyn was eliminated by the Heat in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Seemed like a strange trade. It was suggested that he knew at that time he was going to get to the Bucks one way or another. A source supposedly denied this as a reason, saying that Kidd actually liked Ilyasova and Sanders. and wanted them on the Nets.

Now Ilyasova is being shopped around...

Hmmmm...

I prefer moving JR Smith due to our abundance of SG's
Would actually rather gamble on seeing if AB and STAT could be serviceable in a system

As for JR Smith, I have seen enough of him to know that there isn't room for

Smith
Tim Hardaway JR
Melo

in any system outside of a losing one

Interesting to see

Knight
OJ MAYO
JR SMITH
Melo lite

all on the same team and playing with one BBALL, guarantee's they will get a high draft pick

AB as a stretch 5
STAT as a post presence with horrible DEF, whether he is a 4/5 depends on the match ups but I think he would be a horrible defender regardless but could be a decent help defender if healthy with some blocks

JUST NOT TOGETHER, DEFINITELY NOT TOGETHER WITH MELO, at least try to limit them with rotations

I am not sure what position Middleton is, I have seen he plays SG to undersized PF that has improved his shooting and 3pt shooting last season very much

Again with JR Smith, he has shown he has the ability to play well prior to his knee injury
However if he doesn't regain that speed/quickness/athleticism/jumping ability, he will not be able to penetrate/facilitate/defend/rebound like he did with our 54 game win season
I would rather develop

Develop at the SG,

Tim Hardaway
"TENACIOUS" aka Greek Freak 2
FIX Iman

Also play Calderon at the SG with a PG like Sessions/Bayless with Larkin as the 3rd PG to develop, maybe even add in a Darrius Morris type PG/SG as the 4th PG

Develop Early at the 3

With CA, Ilyasova playing majority of the SF/PF, with some of our PF's getting in rotations depending on who is healthy/playing well and have the favorable match ups

IF we add in Larry Sander's who lead the league in blocks due to some major injuries to D12, Ibaka, Noah, and a developing Jordan, it limits our future flexiblity
What we see is what we will get, with little room to improve, outside of role player potential contracts, and definitely not ALL STAR's unless they come at a major discount

I would rather see if Jr could do well in the triangle than take a chance on Bargs. If Jr does well he will have trade value. No one is going to trade Bargs even if he put up contract year numbers. Jr actually has a skill set and a history of being efficient. Last year after January he has like a 57-58 TS% I think.

Back to 'Sova: His problem is injury issues but I think 7.9m and I think after a down year maybe a good time to buy low. Just as long as the knicks are not giving up any draft picks or ThJr.

We can't give up JR for this guy. Look JR is frustrating as hell, but he has the skillset for the triangle. Can shoot spot up, is a great ballhandler. I don't think you get better by trading JR for this guy.
