Very interesting. Knicks were in on the Birdman. I wonder how much we offered. We saw from Phil the quotes on fiscal sanity, so more than likely we were not offering more than 1 year at the MLE. Just my guess.

But it at least confirms that the Knicks first target is size- looking at another defensive center up to play with Dalembert and Aldrich.

We can't panic tho. Gotta stay patient. That's how you end up making good moves. Keep your options open and cash ready to pounce when the right situation comes up. There will be a trade that comes along in the near future. Just have to stay calm. It's one thing I like about Phil. He's got ice water in his veins and can wait it out with the best of them.

We need a bruiser. Oak isn't walking through that door but we need someone to set the tone.

Yeah it's clear an athletic 4 or 5 is needed on the Knick roster at this point, especially if it's likely that Stat and/or Bargnani can be traded basically at any time. Tyler doesn't look too promising. Good to see Jackson 'beating the bushes' on a guy like this. Pau, birdman, let's see if another worthy candidate can be had at the right price.

I wonder if Jax was looking at Odom as that guy.

Phil says "it hurt" that Lamar Odom couldn't follow thru on the chance Phil extended him. Said he couldn't break free from what troubled him

I'm also glad we missed on him, but it wouldn't have been a disaster to have him on a 1-year deal.

Too many tattoos for me, but the guy is a good team player, who does the little things.

Get rid of his "look" and the guy is a nice player to have. Rebounds, blocks shots, plays good man/man, and he can pass.

You would have had a 3 headed monster of Dalembert, Aldrich, and Anderson- some nice shot blockers, rebounders, and toughness in the middle.

I can guarantee you that he only came to Miami with James' blessing, and I think that tells you something.

Interesting to see that Phil was looking at him. That alone tells you something about Anderson, and I think Phil might see Aldrich as a younger version of him in some ways... with a little less ink on him.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Recently Phil said he was going to be fiscally responsible and try to avoid the Tax.

That's odd because...

- He added salary to 2015 from the Dallas trade.

- He was trying to sign Gasol. Add this late bid for Birdman, would have contributed to our current tax issues and ate more into 2015 cap space. Am I missing something here?

Well he said he wasn't going to spend money just because he had it. I think he saw Pau and Birdman as worth the investment.

Getting Calderón was worth it too. We need a steady point guard that plays the game hard and with poise. Biggest knock on Felton is his unprofessional approach to off season conditioning and his in ability to stay focused on the Gabe and not the refs.

It comes off as if he's speaking based on results he's getting

The job he took on requires creativity.

If he want those types of players then move salary, otherwise don't sound bite with contradiction.

Hearing Chris Andersen's looming new deal with Miami is a two-year pact in the neighborhood of $10 million

I wonder how this plays out with McRoberts and Granger signings?

No S&T for Lebron with Cavs, so their cap situation is a mystery

Well had we the full MLE Phil would have offered it
