So as of right now our team looks like this
Center- cole,Sammy,Tyler? Or dose brags start at the c
Power Forward- amare,brags,Tyler
Small forward- melo,shump,early
Shooting guard- jr,thjr,Greek?
Point guard- Jose,Larkin,Pablo
Now will phil move amare to get Gasol?
Can he move brags anywhere ... The bucks?
Or dose amare turn back time this year?
As far as point guard I like Jose and his vet leadership id like to see Larkin blossom next year and take over the starting role the year after
Shooting guard - jr is the X factor for next year he has all star talent and as a third option to melo and amare we could have another 50 win season . dose the head case derail him like last year ? Thjr is a great 6 th man next year I'm guessing 18 per.. I think thjr gets to the line at will this year. He can also start if jr is a head case and Phil moves him
Small forward- melo is melo baring injury , I think shump can flourish off the bench like he did last year at the end.. He can really take over with his defense. Hopefully Phil has told him his role, and we see come consistency out of shump... He is injury prone, so I expect to see early from time to time.
Power forward - amare played great at the end of last year and I feel Woodson really messed with his head and confidence .amare will benefit the most with a new coach he's a nice second option. After injuries he's defied all the critics .. So I fully believe in his word tab he will regain his all star form baring injury. Brags is a serviceable back up or dose he start at the 5 spot and if that's the case of starting we are looking at Tyler and early this is our weakest link which is why I see brags being the backup.
Center- let me start off by saying my vote is for cole Aldrich to start and get starter minutes 30 plus. You know how people say big men take time to develop. Cole is exactly that the 26 year old is ready to blossom.people forget how good this young man was in college for the j hawks .. He was the best defensive center in college as well as a beast of a rebounder and rim protector. His b ball iq is sky high and the ball is attracted to this guy .. All the reasons above are why sac town drafted this man 11 th. I feel he would have blossomed earlier if he wasn't buried behind cousins and Thompson .. He never got a fair shot till now..but don't be mistaken we just seriously upgraded our starting center position. Cole is a better rim protector, rebounder,passer,then Tyson ever as well as being able to put the ball on the floor which Tyson could not do without turning the ball over. Cole is a legit starting center in this league I see a double double player with 2 + blocks per game. He's the guy we were missing all last year and he was right on our bench Woodson should be banned from the nba for his veteran loyalty and stupidity to not play the best players to win. Cole is better then Tyson flu hands down 7 days a week. Sammy is a nice back up for 10 - 15 a game he knows his role and still is a good rim protector.
My record prediction is high 48-50 wins but I feel we've upgraded our two weakest positions in the point guard spot with a nice vet in Jose,and a nice back up in Larkin. Jose will also bring some leadership we were lacking last year too. The other big upgrade is at the center spot our other weakest position last year Cole will really protect the paint no more will teams be able to get open layups at will. I think Aldrich shocks the NBA world this upcoming year.
I'm ending this by saying thank god Phil got rid of the two worst starting players in the league in Tyson, and Felton and actually got great value in Jose,Larkin,Sammy,Ellington,Early,the Greek Freak 2 that trade was incredible. As well as getting rid of the worst coach in the nba. In Phil I trust,true New Yorkers bleed orange and blue!! GoNyGoNyGo!
