Who is excited about seeing the Knicks in summer league. I have become totally disenchanted with this free agency period. I have come to the conclusion I could careless where they go play. I think Richardo Montelban said it best in Star Trek as Khan "Go or stay but do it because it is what you wish". So summer league is upon us and I'm excited to see the young Knicks in action. We have some first round talent to see how they perform. Excited about the "Greek Freak II".

Very excited to see CE, Larkin, Thanasis, Tyler and THJ get it in. I think these guys can do a lot with great coaching and this is just the very beginning of their development in team BB.

Add in another summer with Aldrich as well. Maybe I'm overly optimistic but I expect most of these guys to be rotation guys this year. Maybe Tyler and Thanasis don't get time right off the bat, but the opportunity will be there for them eventually.

Why not with Tyler he should be in the rotation from day 1 of next season. He's too talented and the days of Woodson's bonehead vet loyalty / rotation are long gone.

Tyler played so good in the beginning last year till he realized Woodson would automatically pull him if he turned the ball over just one time even if he was playing well. It ruined his confidence

Tyler was bent over gasping for air in a lot of the video from day 1 video of practice. Not sure that his conditioning is up to par and that would speak to his maturity and professionalism.

Hes a SL monster--hes been here 4 years running so he will dominate at times--it doesnt portray a true pic of him here. But youre right lack of conditioning ???

Really interested to see how Early, Larkin (MDA would have loved this guy), and the Greek play, as well as the returning guys like Hardaway (looking for D and passing), Tyler and Aldrich.

Besides the guys mentioned above, I'm interested to see how Will Sheehey and Langston Galloway do. I don't really follow college ball until the end of the tournament, but I looked these guys up when their names first popped up and checked out their scouting reports and clips.

Both are well spoken, both are 4 year graduates, both were captains, both played in disciplined systems (from what I know), and both were considered potential 2nd round picks in some circles.

Sheehey, from Indian U, was mentioned by Ian Begley as having had a few good workouts for teams, including the Knicks, and he thought Sheehey was a possible Knick pick at 51. He's 6'7" and more of an intangibles player, and the kind of guy who will do anything to win. Only makes the team if he shows he can play some D at this level, and if he can hit the 3 better than he did in college. Don't think his upside is great, but he seems like the type of guy you want to "go to war" with in a game. D League potential at this point.

Galloway might have been drafted if St. Joseph's had upset Connecticut in the first round of the NCAA's and played a couple of more games. They lost in overtime, but in a game where he had to go up against the vaunted UConn guards, he ended up as the high scorer in the game with 25.

40%+ 3pt shooter for his college career, and holds the St. Joseph's record with 10 3's in a game. He is only 6'2"+, and I don't think he is a superior ball handler, playmaker or great at creating, but the guy can shoot (has a nice step-back 3 from what I saw in the clips). If he can play some D and hit his shots like he did in college, he might normally have a chance to stick, but we seem to have a logjam at the guard position.

Should be interesting to watch.

Wow I did not even know Galloway was on the team--that was under the radar. He can stroke it--and hes physically tough(put together for a guard)--that was a really good St Joseph's team. You know who's a gy to look at for the future is that tall old school PG Bembry. I'd say Galloway probably correlates to a slightly smaller Jodie Meeks.

Looking forward to this- I agree about Tyler's conditioning, though he looked kind of out of shape during the regular season too. It's actually an interesting team this year- Cole, Tyler, Early, Larkin Tim Jr,Antetokounmpo, usually there's only one or two players!

Do we still have a shot at keeping Cole? There were rumblings earlier that he was probably going somewhere else...

The fact that he signed on with the summer team is encouraging at least. Hopefully he doesn't impress too much to drive up the price, but now that we have that 3.6M exception, there's no reason we shouldn't dip into the mle for Cole.

Not sure that Phil/Fisher necessarily want to see this in SL, especially if they are looking to evaluate other players.

Defense and the ability to move the ball is what they want to see from him, as well as some consistency in his shooting.

He really could be the steal of that draft class, though. You had glimpses of a potential star last year, and he showed some ability to finish at the basket and even hit mid-range shots. Defensive intensity and awareness and helping an offense flow are the next steps for him to be a star.

Actually reminds me a bit of Cazzie Russell from the '69 champions, who, strangely enough, also played for Michigan. With the Knicks, Cazzie was feast or famine, but he could pour in 4/5 jumpers in a minute or two when he was on. I am hoping that Hardaway becomes a more complete player.

Hardaway, Early, and Larkin seem to have formed a bond so far. It would be nice to see some young players actually have a chance to develop together on the team. You throw in the Greek, some of our younger vets like Tyler and Aldrich, and maybe a summer league discovery or two, and we have a good core of young talent to follow and watch grow.

Shotgun theory says that not everything will hit the target you're aiming at, but if you have enough heading in the direction some will be true. If 3 of our younger players can emerge, we will be in good shape... 4/5, and we will be on the way to becoming a perennial contender.

Jackson and Fisher get to see how he performs in their system. Has to show some passing ability, a midrange game and some touch around the basket. I'm hoping that he and Tyler show something.

The fact that he was invited to play for us in SL tells me they think he might have a chance to stick around.

Or we will trade all 4/5 of them for ....Rudy Gay! which will keep the board busy for another 4 years! LOL

Sorry, just had to go there.

But I am hoping that we are now beyond this...
