Really interested to see how Early, Larkin (MDA would have loved this guy), and the Greek play, as well as the returning guys like Hardaway (looking for D and passing), Tyler and Aldrich.
Besides the guys mentioned above, I'm interested to see how Will Sheehey and Langston Galloway do. I don't really follow college ball until the end of the tournament, but I looked these guys up when their names first popped up and checked out their scouting reports and clips.
Both are well spoken, both are 4 year graduates, both were captains, both played in disciplined systems (from what I know), and both were considered potential 2nd round picks in some circles.
Sheehey, from Indian U, was mentioned by Ian Begley as having had a few good workouts for teams, including the Knicks, and he thought Sheehey was a possible Knick pick at 51. He's 6'7" and more of an intangibles player, and the kind of guy who will do anything to win. Only makes the team if he shows he can play some D at this level, and if he can hit the 3 better than he did in college. Don't think his upside is great, but he seems like the type of guy you want to "go to war" with in a game. D League potential at this point.
Galloway might have been drafted if St. Joseph's had upset Connecticut in the first round of the NCAA's and played a couple of more games. They lost in overtime, but in a game where he had to go up against the vaunted UConn guards, he ended up as the high scorer in the game with 25.
40%+ 3pt shooter for his college career, and holds the St. Joseph's record with 10 3's in a game. He is only 6'2"+, and I don't think he is a superior ball handler, playmaker or great at creating, but the guy can shoot (has a nice step-back 3 from what I saw in the clips). If he can play some D and hit his shots like he did in college, he might normally have a chance to stick, but we seem to have a logjam at the guard position.
Should be interesting to watch.
