It would be ideal if they would take Houston but I don't think they will when they already have Peja.

So how about some of these guys:
Tim Thomas
Kurt Thomas
Frank Williams
Nazr

they could use Kurt with the Vlade era pretty much over.

Then we can sign Dampier for the MLE. How great those this look?!
C-Dampier
PF-CWebb
SF-Penny/Demarr
SG-Houston
PG-Stephon

bench: Sweetney who I think will break out next year and the off season training will definitely make him even better!

Yeah...it works until Webber and his knees become Allan Houston like and we have 2 $100M players on the bench.

Would you do Tim Thomas and Shandon Anderson for Webber? I don't think I would. I'd do Kurt and Shandon, but I doubt Sac would.

Sh@t yeah, I would. No brainer. Anderson's got to go (I'd trade him for nothing), and Timmy is just good. Webber would be a top PF in the conference. With guns' line up we go to the Eastern finals (if H2O is healthy) at least. And with our big three, I'm pretty ok about having Penny fill the three. I liked what I saw out of him last year.

BTW, then KT is expendible so you can still upgrade elsewhere.

All that said, NO WAY Sacramento does this deal.

Hate to give up the kid, but I'd have to say yes. Webber is
just too good to pass on.

Sacramento isn't going to trade Webber to us unless they can force Isiah to exhaust all our resources.

In fact, Webber spends a good portion of his summers in New York along with his steady, supermodel Tyra Banks.

that's enough reason for him to want to be a Knick right there!

its a marriage made in dolanville. sacremento will do anything to get rid of his contract and the only team in the nba who would be willing to trade for his contract is the knicks. as long as his knee is hanging by a thread, thats good enough for the knick brass. KT and ending contracts is a done deal. Im not endorsing it, but ive come to the conclusion we will never rebuild and they only care about selling out the seats and getting high TV advertising and Chris Webber is the type of name that does those things

i said this a few weeks ago i believe chris webber or mike finley is coming here with the possibility of dampier or jackson depending on which player the knicks trade for:>)

the odds of trading for one of these players IMHO 35%
the odds of getting one of the top tier FA like jackson or dampier 25%

I wouldn't give up Sweetney or Marbury for Webber. If that's what Sac is demanding, they can keep him.

I'd rather not part with Sweetney yet either, but to say you wouldn't trade him for Webber?! Come on.

Right, I agree that but I don't think we'll have to. Isiah just has to be persistent. If Sac says they want Sweetney Isiah shouldn't accept it right away. I have a feeling thats how Lampe was made part of the deal.

Webber and Marbury in the pick and role would be deadly. I'm talking some 2004 version of Stockton and Malone stuff. Webber would make the Knicks so much better it ain't even funny.

I have no probalem with taking on a guy that is injury prone and due to make 80 mill over 4 years.

The Knicks just can't give up Timmy or Sweets. Sweets si the insurance the Knicks need when Webber goes down and he usually does at least once a year. Tim Thomas would be a nice complement to an offense that features Webber.

Webber
Timmy
Nazr
Marbury
Houston

with Sweetney, Penny and whoever on the bench?

That was a great article but I just don't see Sacramento doing it unless they get back players that can help them win and saveface for trading their Star for the bums the Knicks have.

To tell you the truth. Sacramento actually could use players like Shandon, KT, and Dikembe off the bench with all the gret offense they have. They lost to the T-Wolves because no one was physical enough to make the plays on defense. Playing KT, Shandon and Deke off the bench could rally a team like that and give them th edefensive options they need to get better.

Webber makes them stagnant sometimes. They need a change. The Knicks could put together a couple of ending contracts and it could work. In my mind and most fo ours but the rest fo the world would condemn it to hell.

What's so great about the C Webb we saw for 23 games this year? I wouldn't give up Steph or Mike for that. Anyone who would is living in the past--when C Webb once used to be a star.

How about this? In this off year when he's been playing hurt, he still averaged more points than all but one player on our team, and more rebounds than any player on our team. That in an off year.
If he comes back, he would be the best player on our team. Yes, I dared say it. Anyway, my point is not whether or not he'd be more valuable than Steph, but the combination would be deadly.
Wanted a post player? Here he is.

C Webb's lucky no one keeps (or pays attention to) stats on how many points you give up on defense. They had a good article in ESPN Insider showing that of the 8 teams that made it to the second round of the playoffs, if you rank the PFs based on how many points they score minus how many they give up, C-Webb was last. I wasn't surprised.

Have I missed something? Have you guys forgotten about the last two years? or the last decade?

How many injured former stars do we have to have on this team? how many of them have returned to stardom?

come on!!

We just had dyess - isnt that enough?

come on guys... this is too much
