A visibly upset Pierre Jackson was just wheeled out of arena. Awful to hear that he ruptured his Achilles. Hopefully it's a speedy recovery.

The kid can't catch a break.

There was no apparent contact when the 5-foot-10, 180-pound Jackson dropped to the court in the second quarter, writhing in pain. He was carried off the court by teammates with a towel draped over his face after recording seven points on 3 for 5 shooting, including a 3-pointer, and a steal in seven minutes.

Jackson wrote on Twitter: "Thank you to everyone reaching out its highly appreciated….. Pray for me."

Jackson, 22, scored 58 points in a D-League game last season and averaged 29.1 points, 6.2 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.9 steals while playing 41.5 minutes in 31 games with the Idaho Stampede.

This is why you can never blame an athlete for taking the money. I hope the kid bounces back.

yeah and it really sucks that nola pretty much held him from being on the roster. kid can't even get an nba pay-check because the pelicans are holding him back. awful.

Wow. Nyk4ever -- I felt the same exact way bro when my buddy told me about this today (he and I both really liked PJ at Baylor). There's always gonna be a part of me that roots for the little guy and I was definitely rooting for this little guy...Ashame -- I felt New Orleans jerked him around right from the beginning -- they trade for the guy along with Jrue Holiday, then never gave him a shot; they made him go to France where he got so homesick he never even played a game there, then further left him in the lurch when he dominated the hell outta the D-League and never called him up, even though they obviously needed PG help in a HUGE way when Holiday went down and with Evans playing like crap at the time. Then the kid begs for a trade that was never granted. Jackson's then forced to go to Turkey to earn a decent living when he shouldn't have had to. I mean move on already -- either welcome the kid or trade him! If he wasn't good enough for your crappy Pelicans team, why hold him hostage, Demps? What did he think he had there with this kid, the crown jewel? They destroyed any leverage they possibly could've had for themselves by the way they treated him...You know they had to have had offers last year -- take the best one and move on...They finally free him and now he gets hurt, before he ever gets a chance to sign any kind of an NBA contract.. Smh.. Look, no 2nd round pick or undrafted player's ever guaranteed anything, I get that, but with the talent this kid had, I hate to see how badly he was mishandled.

The dude's an NBA player in my book. Talent is talent man, I don't care how tall he is. He could've played for me any day. He's a guy I'd pay money to see play.. Wish him all the best. Here's hoping he makes it back and we're watching him on TV in the NBA someday soon!!

Sucks man.... sports is all about confidence and opportunity. This probably kills both.
