Louis who? Lol I guess we can still sign Patrick Young as a free agent.

Looks like he was starting to breakout in Europe, but only played 6 games last season, injury?

Edit Scratch that looks like he was traded.

Looks like an active 6'10" shot-blocker/run the floor type...No idea. We'll see..

If the plan was to buy a 2nd round big, I would've preferred 6'11" 240 Stanford PF Dwight Powell. Really like that kid's face up game...I wonder if this kid was on Phil's board late...I think the Bobcats got a player in Powell at 45.

I would've been cool with inviting Patrick Young to call, but it's no biggie. French dude probably isn't expected to come this season anyway.

Important point regarding this pick:

This was probably a pick to stash an euro player like many teams did in the Second Round. Point is, you have to draft him to have his rights, so this is probably a guy starting to break out that we will stash for a while. Nice.

Funny write up by Nick Prevenas of nbadraft.net on Labeyrie --

"Louis Labeyrie is a rail-thin 6-ft-10 forward who will likely never play a minute in the NBA. He doesn't possess the athleticism or the skill level and he's already 22 years old. It's OK. There are only 450 NBA roster spots. He'll be able to tell his friends and family he was drafted No. 57. That's pretty good!"

I'm sure this level of comp wasn't much to judge but it's something to add to the scouting.

Offensive Strengths
Very good Offensive rebounder
Very good Pick & roll game
Strong Dunker in Fast Transitions
Acceptable Footwork in Low post 1x1 action
Able to score Mid range shots

Offensive Weaknesses
Has to continue improving his Low post skills, especially in Left side
Poor Free Throw shooter
Has to be more decisive in Contact and Opposition shots

Gotta love players with Afros. The Afro is a lost part of the game, as they:
intimidate - they make you seem bigger than you are, 4" or so. See Fletch below.

I think we give him to the bulls in exchange of their Euro in case Melo decides he wants to go to Chi.

Sounds like Phil picked an 'asset' to include in a trade. Once he is moved I am sure his greatness will be immortalized.

This pick was more about STASHING talent because of the limited roster spots we had
I would have preferred Bachnsaski and/or a PG

DeAndre Kane
Corey Jefferson

Semaj Christon
Markel Starks
Xavier Thomas
Kendall Williams

Not sure if Doren Wright was in the draft or pulled out

Also for our first pick, Spencer Dwinwiddie would have been a great fit even though he is still recovering from his ACL injury
If you watch him play, he doesn't rely on physical abilities but has a great shooting stroke, leadership, DEF, high IQ, confidence, and SIZE to defend 1-3 positions similar to Jarret Jack when he fills his body out

Also would have liked to get Dwight Powell as well somehow to go with Backnaski
In any case, I would like to get some of these guys contracts and lock them in right now, focusing on development, cutting ties with Pablo etc...
