Laker's 7th pick is their highest since James Worthy went #1 in 1984. So 30 years with no high picks and they have won 5 titles?

Hmmmmmmm

Who said we should tank? The lakers are a different story. I mean they had Phil jackson kobe bryant and shaq so they were both lucky and made good decisions. The Knicks have made very poor decisions the past 15 years.

The Lakers drafted magic#1 a year removed from going to the finals....

They got Kareem in a lucky way too. How did they draft James worthy in 84? They had ridiculous luck through the years

yea.. but I was thinking after that. They drafted Kobe (draft day trade counts). Traded for Shaq and Gasol and were able to build 5 titles around those guys. Pretty impressive

wasn't Kobe pretty much determined to go to the Lakers - which is why he fell to 13(?) and ended up being traded for a somewhat over the hill Vlade Divac?

In fact - it looks like he was on no one's radar.
