I like the NBA analyst take on dealing with chicago which won't hurt our 2015/16 $cap & ability to improve after 2015

Plus Bulls can send some probable goods back and its a Help/win situation. NO TO HEAT & Rockets whom will deal Asik & Linsanity "whom wants" Jeremy Lin back ?

I'll take him for 2 cents but no more!

Back to the BULLs vs NYK scenario:
Here we get rid of that lil' pest$ Bang-bang law offender named Raymond Felton scrub PG.

ESPN Insider's Bradford Doolittle (subscription only) looked into the deal he thought would make the most sense involving the Bulls and Knicks:

"Chicago sends its two first-round picks this year -- who would have already been selected -- plus the top-10 protected pick they own in 2015 from Sacramento, [Carlos] Boozer and [Mike] Dunleavy to New York for Anthony and Ray Felton. Chicago might also have to include some of its non-guaranteed money to match salaries."

Look at what the Knicks get in return: A couple of first-rounders (something they don't have this year), some expiring contracts to help clear up cap problems and they'd get rid of a troubling point guard in Felton. That's not a bad consolation prize.

But that's one of three scenarios that could get Anthony to the Bulls -- Doolittle said they could clear out cap space by using their amnesty rights on Boozer, trading their first-round picks this year, making a bunch of trades and waiver moves and give Anthony a max contract. Or the Bulls can save money by signing Anthony for less money (Doolittle said $17.8 million) to help them keep some of the players they would lose if they brought in Anthony on a max deal.

Listen fellas here we GET DRAFT PICKS and from my understanding if CHI BULLs cant get top 1-20 2014 draft eligibles They arent interested in picks
they are interested in MELO we want to get something out of this!

Are you listening Phil J.? J.Dolan and scouts ?

Trade draft night Ty Chandler to best west/nba suitor OR wait to summer,

DJ wants MALCONTENTS off this team, I'd like to keep Shumpert 1 more yr, and We'd need not worry about OKC late 2014 draft picks theft,
if we do this BULLs deal. I LIKE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh please Lord if Melo gotta go make this go down if he aint staying
My preference is Melo stays but for right $$ signing as PJackson says, NO more long term or Bloated $$$ contracts for superstars without NBA rings!

Don't have to sell me on that deal.

"DooLIttle" or do a lot, its a done if up to me!

Bulls have plenty left to make a run and the euro they could play.

I think Amnisty Boozer The BUlls only get 11 or 12 mill to clear up. This is why they need to trade.

Its a win now trade for Bulls. Clear the decks and play the rookies next year. Tank.

It may go against the grain of ones moral fiber but how you get a star best is to draft one.

I'm wit it too man....if Melo has to go so be it....we rock out with their draft picks and trade Tyson, Felton and Shump and rebuild from the ground up like we all want to do and like we need to do.

We'd still have plenty of vets to try and stay relevant as we rebuild but we make it happen in 2015 son!!!

nalod agreed 100%
(get a star is to draft one!)

NY isnt in a good position however
we lose Melo I'd like the picks
we never been into picks and the new Jackson/Fischer regime ...we will go beyond that
even if we don't get into this yr. draft but have a chance

Like Melo OR not its TOUGH to lose the SOB for NOTHING !
he aint coming back here/NY unless His agents rape $$ Knicks front office for $$$$$moooolah

Dont want that!

Then there is this scenario:

Bulls clear cap room. Bulls sign Melo. Knicks get nothing. All Chicago really has to do to keep their picks is to move Dunleavy

I still list keeping Melo as option 1A, but this a more than acceptable 1B.

Tyler Ennis, do you want the starting job next season?

I dont mind keeping Melo IF he takes a significant paycut and not the 5 year 129 million contract we have been hearing about. melo is in his 30's now so taking a paycut would be fair on both sides. Lets afce it teh only player that deserves that type of money in his 30's is lebron. However if the bulls offer us at least 2 first rounders i would take it

your forgetting the cap holds. They have to amnesty Boozer and find a taker for Taj Gibson who is their version of Anthony Mason on those good Knick teams. A bruiser you can throw at anybody. That leaves them bare bones and if Rose doesnt return it Melo, Noah and some really low level talent. There is huge upside for sure, but thats no sure thing and isnt much different than hoping Amare comes back an all star next year.

If they amnesty Boozer and dump Dunleavy, they have 43,602,653 committed plus the cap hold for their 2 first rd. picks. The projected cap is 63.2M.

cap hold for pick 16 is 1,371,200
cap hold for pick 19 is 1,181,800
total 2,553,000

that leaves them 17,044,347 w/o moving Gibson to sign Melo. If Melo forces their hand, they can move Gibson and keep Dunleavy giving them an extra 5M to sign Melo or 22,044,347. But my point is either way, they don't need to do a S&T or give up their picks to sign him.

If Stout dupes season he n his gimpy knees had last prior season, Amare is 2nd best player to melo
On club. I'd sign up for it & take that in 2014/2015 since Mr Amare will be gone after 2015 n cap space created.

Lets keep it real, there's no way that Melo would pass up the opportunity to get more money and a new and better team if he can. The Bulls best option is to do a sign n trade with NY. I don't want to see Melo go, but if he does I feel we MUST get something for him. We gave up so much to get him and it would be the height of stupidity to let him go for nothing. Just can't do that. This idea gets us 2 good picks so it makes the most sense IMO. Sure it sucks to have Melo in our conference, but that's why they'd be giving up 2 picks!!!
