Sell the Lakers, who have Cap room, on trading for a one year rental of Amaer (or Bargs), plus Shumpert for cap space. The knicks would be under the cap, could sign lebaron and melo.

The lakers would keep their 2015 plan intact plus have Amaer to pair with Kobe, plus Shump to work and train under kobe.

With Melo, Lebron and Love gone what is their 2015 plan going to be? Why would they sign Amare to help us get Melo and Lebron when they themselves can potentially get both?

No one will our should help us. We got ourselves into this mess weer need to get ourselves out. It start with letting Melo go. He got his money he had no loyalty for us we shouldn't have any for him either.

Why??????

Oh right The Knicks are morons and can't think past a few seasons

I brought this point up before but maybe we could create cap space through a combination of salary dumps and the use of the stretch provision. Our payroll currently stands at $90 million for next season and the cap is at $63 million. Considering that none of our contracts are long-term (most only have a year left on them), maybe we could pull it off. Here's how we could do it.

1.) Trade JR Smith, Pablo Prigioni and Raymond Felton to the Nets, who send Marcus Thornton to the Jazz, who in turn provide us with a $12 million trade exception. Our payroll would then be at $78 million.

2.) Trade Amare Stoudemire to the Celtics for Gerald Wallace, Keith Bogan's non-guaranteed deal and a $6 million trade exception. We could then waive Bogan's contract set at $5 million, resulting in an $11 million purge, overall. Our payroll would then be at $67 million.

3.) Melo opts out, taking us down to $47 million.

4.) Trade Tyson Chandler and Gerald Wallace to the Mavericks for a $25 million trade exception. Our payroll now stands at $22 million.

5.) Trade Andrea Bargnani and $2 million to the Pistons for Jonas Jerebko and a $6 million trade exception. Our payroll now stands at $16 million.

6.) Trade Iman Shumpert and $1 million to the Thunder for the 21st and 29th picks. Our payroll would then stand at $15 million (factoring in a $2 million cap hold for the draft picks).

With a payroll at only $15 million, we'd have a cap hold for 8 vacant roster spots totaling $4 million, which would bump our payroll to $19 million. In spite of that adjustment, we would have $44 million to work with, which should be enough to sign LeBron and Anthony albeit not much else. We'd still have a $3 million to work with after reaching the cap and about $10 million to work with in 2015. I think that we could expect a reasonable upgrade, especially with a draft pick to work with.

agree with all except #5. we are able to get under the cap if we get creative.

Amear to lakers would be a one year rental. Amear is serviceable. Lakers always had 2015 in mind, not 2014.

The Lakers can do much more with $20 million than Amare. If someone takes him, it would have to be in exchange for crappy players (e.g. Joel Anthony) and long term contracts (e.g. Gerald Wallace), which will allow them to clear cap in the long term by assuming more salary in the short term.

Why don't you think number 5 could work? My thinking is that Van Gundy loves big men that can spread the floor, which is exactly what Bargnani could do for them as a bench player. Jerebko is an inconsequential player, so it really comes down to whether the Pistons could do something better with the net $6 million they'd assume with Bargnani. Given their circumstances, I doubt they could do better but it'd still be a hell of a reach on our part.

Lebron aint coming to NY this season

Fugggggat-about it

When he opt out also gives the longterm reasons NY is out of picture

Forget Lebron
We need picks and get our own special players 2015-2018 next seasons forthcoming

NardDog, look at this list, virtually all these teams get NOTHING but get worst because they have the ability to do so, while not getting compensated for it, and tell me

1- why Utah does this deal

2- Why the hell would Mavs take Chandler and Gereld Wallace's contract together for a TRADE EXEMPTION, without giving back contracts????
While this move will not only cost them the ability to chase FA's but also lose Dirk's bird rights as well

5- AB why the hell would they want another PF/C in addition to the problems they already have with finding the minutes, in addition to wasting their cap space without getting anhthing out of it

6- Iman Shumpert for 2 1st round picks in a deep draft? Really?

These teams do not serve us and owe us any favors to try to reduce salary for us for no reasons, you make trades to get better for the present or for the future
This is just one post you made recently, you make many unrealistic trades

Don't get offended, I am not attacking you per say, but it is really unrealistic

Not actually accurate. In order to sign LeBron, the Knicks would not be able to resign Melo. The Knicks have to stay at/under the cap after signing both in order to get both. Considering that neither one will take any less than $20 million per year, in my opinion, that would mean we'd need to be at around $23 million of guaranteed contracts for next season. Not possible. Sorry.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

btw, you remind me of someone that was banned a year or 2 ago

1.)Utah does the deal because they need warm bodies and a minimum of $50 million or so in contracts. They might have a problem meeting that threshold because most of their players are on rookie contracts. So why not take a one year filler on Thornton, who fills a position of need?

2.) The Mavs just took Tyson Chandler and you're asking me that? They could've kept the rest of the "legendary haul" we acquired if they assumed the extra $7 million that Gerald Wallace had on his contract than Felton. Seems fair considering all the "assets" they gave up, right? And you're wrong, they wouldn't lose Nowitzki's Bird Rights. Just do the math.

5.) The Bargnani trade is a bit out there because the Pistons would assume so much more money. But from a player standpoint, I think he's a clear upgrade over Jerebko as the 6th man big. And for what it's worth, the Kings were reportedly working toward a trade for Josh Smith, so I was presuming that he was not going to be a Piston beyond this offseason.

6.) I think Shumpert's only a role player but the Thunder expressed interest in trading him for a pick...it's not unreasonable to presume that you could throw money at them for the 2nd pick. The Thunder already have more than enough young players, so I doubt they'd have any interest in adding more guaranteed money for players that won't get any real time (see Andre Roberson and Perry Jones III).

And quite honestly, I don't care what you think either way. This is all for fun. Besides, it's not like I'm posting threads about the Knicks acquiring Tim Duncan and Greg Popovich or something.

You still don't see how your trades are ridiculous?
If you presented those offers, you would piss the team off with such LOWBALLS and demands that it would ruin any possible future deals, something Phil Jackson is currently looking to establish as The President

1- just because they can take Thorton's contract does not mean that should, THEY ARE in business, not doing any favors for any teams but anyone but themselves
Instead of just absorbing contracts that don't even have any future plans of their future while they are rebuilding, why not look to use the cap space for a possibility to lure CA, Lebron, and another STAR or 2nd/3rd tier stars, they signed

Derrick Favors on an extension already that isn't updated on Hoopshype.com, I know it was a 4 year deal at over 50m after incentives that they are looking to SHED now with the rumors
Kanter, scheduled to make 6m, who the 3rd overall pick, and is a RFA next season
Gordon Hayward was signed to a qualifying offer of 4.68m but is likely to be tested by another team on a multiyear deal, playing the 3rd player role, or 6th man role

2- Dallas used contracts to trade for Tyson Chandler, your offer was for them to give us back a trade exemption, for 2 OLD players and Gereld Wallace has declined much as well
By using their cap space like you suggested and giving up a trade exemption for Chandler and Gereld Wallace for us to shed salaries vs trading for players that are still under contract, one of which is Calderon who has a contract for 3 more years though he still shows he is a serviceable PG with efficient 3pt shooting for his entire career while he NEVER relied on physical abilities to begin with
Anyway by sending back a trade exemption, they need to lose Dirk's 20m + bird rights which they need to rescind since they are not sheding any salaries in the process
I am very surprised they even took Chandler back to begin with but I think it has more to do with keeping Dirk who really liked Chandler, calling his presence, leadership as the anchor of the DEF, ability to defend/help defend at the time, "KG like" However, that was 3 years ago and instead of trying to buy more time to offload Dalembert/Larkin and the rest of the players if not they need to wait 60 days to do a trade with the CBA, Phil Jackson wisely took the trade before Cuban/Dallas changed their minds

5- Detroit has only under 40m committed to salaries though Greg Monroe's a RFA with a qualifying offer of 5.48m, so with the expected 5m increase, they would have over 20m to lure an ALL STAR, with the possibility shed more salaries in trades with

Monroe 5.48m
Jonas Jerebko 4.5m

smaller trades in

Will Bynum 2.5m
Gigi Datome 1.75m
Kyle Singler 1.1m

Peyton Silva $816,482
Tony Mitchel $816,482

team options in Billups, Josh Harrellson aka Jorts, and the possibility of sign and trades

with the bird rights to Rodney Stuckey
Charlie Villanueva (who is unlikely to get back any positive value)

Now with Stan Van Gundy has the President of Operations and Head Coach, he will likely decide who is tradeable or not, likely the only UNTOUCHABLE is Andre Drummond, possibly Kentavious Caldwell Pope, unless a team is willing to pay premium due to his "potential"

Drummond - selected 9th overall and he was the 2 best steals of the draft along with Damion Lilliard

Certainly moveable pieces that can bring back POSITIVE value

Brandon Jennings - $8,000,000 $8,344,497

Josh Smith - $14,000,000 $14,000,000 $14,000,000 (3 years left)

Greg Monroe (RFA) 5.48m (qualifying offer but is eligible for an extension or a team could TEST Detroit by giving Monroe a deal, seeing if they would let him go or prefer the cap space instead, depending on the price

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who was a rookie, selected 8th overall picked before MCW, who both are "COMBO GUARDS" but obviously MCW has much more value since he was one of the steals of the draft and displayed his potential last season, winning ROY, it is possible that he may be untouchable for now since his value isn't the highest yet and needs more time to develop, evaluate his value/skills

They currently only own the 38th pick of the draft

Instead of trading for AB, wouldn't it make more sense for The Pistons to possibly try to lure 1 ALL STAR by SIGNING them or possibly even 2 ALL STAR's, this summer, by trading some of the above

6- The rumor was for the 28th pick of the draft but Knicks wanted the HIGHER pick, and OKC stood firm, however, this is before Phil Jackson took over
Now, you want the 28th pick and the 21st pick

You say it is for fun however, you get very defensive and serious about your suggestion, while I point out your offers are absolutely RIDICULOUS
Yet you very strongly opinionated of your trade proposals and draft considerations, sometimes attacking other posters here because they do not agree with you

I am not trying to attack you, don't take it personal please, we are all Knick fans here with different opinions
No need to attack others or me just because we have different opinions of value's of the team, trades, players, etc,
