Start with a backcourt staffed by two guards who can be trusted to make proper decisions under pressure. Having three who could create off the dribble was a luxury. After Willis was injured, Jerry Lucas would slide to center and provide impossible to cover on the perimeter. And that was BEFORE the three point line. Sheesh.

Think skill sets. Yes, we will never see that much sheer talent in one uniform, but Phil could be thinking shared responsibility more than he is thinking superstars, as the media assumes.
