Just like we didnt really use draft picks the right way for the last dozen years--we cant bank on a coup in free agency in 2015. There will be 24 teams with roughly 40-50mm to spend. We need a four tier approach
1. Organic growth
2. Drafting well-filling out 4-5 spots with players who are salaried controlled.
3. Trades--if a trade with a max contract comes available-well we may have as much as 4 of them potentially that end to do something. We also have JR Smith who might be a good piece for another team
4. Free agency--we'll have that cap room but we dont need to sacrifice every penny to get there. Houston has proven as long as you are close--you can get there. We made huge mistakes trading Marcus Camby for like 3 draft picks. Id rather have the good draft picks or the cheap MLE players and if I have to move them at the time--then Im sure we can.
