This is becoming just as important as having a solid coach. Listening to the press conference about fishers leadership on the teams he's played with, and how important of a factor it is, and im not going to go into the leaders on those bulls championship rosters.
I look around the league and there not many to even choose from (which contributes to the fact that only 8 different NBA teams have won championships in 30 yrs).
We miss that so bad this season, and I made a big deal about it before training camp. A coach can do but so much, without that leader or leaders. I'm not talking Ewing Lead-by-example-leadership, I'm talking about a smart, tough player who can speak to his teammates, and make sure their doing their job.
Amar'e Stoudemire wants Derek Fisher to be a disciplinarian.
Fisher, who was introduced as the Knicks coach Tuesday, has no coaching experience, so Stoudemire said the most important thing he needs to establish with his new team is discipline.
"For the young players who are not as professional as they should be, I will look for him to put his foot down and really be firm about his teaching strategy and even for veteran players who don't want to buy into it, you got to put your foot down," Stoudemire said Tuesday in Manhattan where he signed copies of his new book,
We saw this on the court all season, jump shot, after jump shot, Iso after Iso, player after player stating they have no leader and how they miss kidd and sheed. It's so painfully obvious that two veteran team always end up in the finals..
I can't think of one reasonable player in the league who we can even target.
We need some glue guys on this roster (we miss kmart more then tyson)
