I think Rick Fox is a very good analyst from his commentary on nbatv....He was a grunt that was a borderline dirty player. His personality is all nyc....

Derek Fisher would be a nice executive more than coach. I think Rick Fox needs some serious consideration for this coaching job. You guys want to talk about a guy that can get in his players heads. This guy was all about that as a player

Saw article with Rick Fox talking about having interest in the job. I have no problem with him. Didn't like him as a player, but he's smart and i'm sure he knows how Phil wants things done. He deserves an interview same as Fisher, Lue, Walton etc. Whoever ends up being the coach will get lots of little words of advice from Phil so it will be a good spot for a young coach no matter what.

I can just imagine what kind of festivities he would provide for FAs. Did you see what he did for shuttlesworth on his recruiting visit.

No doubt.

Thing about Fox is he fits the coaching temperament if you ask me. He can be one of the guys and I think his personality would infect the team. It could be bad too. He speaks like Sam Mitchell, who I think is an excellent coach, just possibly too strong willed. That's Fox. It could work though. I can see Fox rallying the huddle and calling guys out. Fox is still pretty cool himself, so I think the players would relate to him. I could see Fox going to blows with a player like JR Smith as well so it's a give and take thing.

Again though you gotta trust Phil's judgement. Fox name in the hat intrigues me though.

Funny....but all jokes aside, he's a hip hop generation guy. He wouldn't be a father figure type. He would be like the older brother younger uncle type. It intrigues me. Fox to me is as nyc as it could get. I would love to see this guy in post game interviews, etc.

I couldn't take him serious. All I would think about is him and Tasha Mack(The Game). Now could he be an assistant, maybe.

Just wish some of these guys actually made the effort to get some coaching experience if they are really serious about becoming coaches.

Yeah it is. I don't blame Fox for throwing his name out there. I would do the same thing too. But this organization really needs to bear down and get things moving.

No, I like this approach- no one knows who our real target is, shows we learned from the Kerr thing.

Rick Fox was a mediocre player at best. I've watched him playing on court and he's really not much of a player, especially on defense he reeks. He has charisma and looks and that's what got him to be somewhat popular in Los Angeles. He dated nothing but super hot celebrities and even girls half his age. He got on a few tiny roles here in Hollywood and that's probably his best achievement. Playa to the extreme among NBA players.

Exactly. Most coaches are former players in some respect, but please learn how to do this job before we give you one of the most sought after positions. I think Jason Kidd was a rare exception - a "coach" on the floor type. He couldn't play by the end of last year, but he we lost a lot of wins this year without his stabilizing presence. I'm not saying he was the only reason, but we couldn't execute offensively and didn't play with as much ball movement and spacing and I think a lot of that was the lack of someone like Kidd.

Totally amazing. It's like everyone who has played the game, now thinks that they've got the chops to run a team. Let's bstart with baby steps please. Maybe a few years as an assistant first. If sitting on the sidelines talking about the game was it, than maybe we can ALL thruw our names in the hat.

with the advent and arising of information technology it makes it easier for neophytes to be able to carry out the agendas of higher-ups at a remove. qualifications should be in-game strategic ability, substitution patterns, leadership.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%
