But GS doesn't need to turn it around but he needed to sign for 5 years? Bleh.
3 year GM and tv talking head speaking.

The Clips are the world's latest fiasco waiting to disband, the Spurs are a Duncan retirement away from a rebuild and the Rockets just plain suhuck as consitituted.

I can spend 4 years waiting for Lebron to get hurt or do an early retirement to the NFL.

He may not be able to coach a lick, but he sure is smart.

He wanted the guaranteed money. Who can blame him. I actually think the Warriors will take 3-4 years to get to a elite level baring injury to players on other teams.

Their contracts and draft pick situation are not that great. GSW has a roster problem.

Every Knick fan knows this is a major project and the GS job was actually easy to like for Kerr. This whole thing is really not as big of a deal as it might seem. Losing Kerr isn't the end of the world. It's not like he was gonna come in and immediately turn the team around. This is still a team that is going to see MAJOR change over the next 2 years. This coming season was going to be a prep for the rest of the term of the contract anyway. I love how the media is trying to make this out to be a major blow for Phil. Somehow this is his 1st failure. COME ON!!! It's a privilege to coach in NY despite what many think. If you win in this job it's gonna lift you to the apex of the profession. Ask Joe Torre how winning here worked out for his legacy.

Any coach coming in has to know this is an unknowable situation with the roster. Phil can't guarantee him anything regarding the roster. That has to make the job even more scary than it would already be in the Media capitol. It would be nice to have this behind us, but really there are more equally capable prospects out there. Kerr wasn't a singularly special option. It's not like Phil has a shortage of former players. I like the idea of Fisher even tho waiting would be a bit rough. Phil doesn't exactly need the coach here right now for this early stage of the job of turning this around. I want a guy that is willing to move to NY and accept 100% of the experience of coaching here. 100% psyched to take the job and the city on.
