For the money spent on PJ

AND

Willing to spend on Kerr or a Head Coach, and Mckinsey Corp

It would have been enough to lure PROVEN quality talents on both positions, an entire coaching staff, development coaches, trainers, entire scouts, probably have money left over for a scouting/metric advanced stats anaylst, and make upgrades in training equipment etc...

Like a Poppavich/Buford or Presti combo with their entire staff
Having Poppavich to possibly coach a few years and hand select his staff and build a winning culture and evolving system

In the end, we starphuqed with big name of PJ instead
Of course they would need full control that PJ got from Dolan though

Kerr made the correct decision, go with the team with guaranteed money, much less scrutiny/media to focus on basketball, and have pieces to contend with NOW with assets for their future

Kerr will be a good head coach in my opinion, elevating Curry/Klay Thompsons games as shooters, and Barnes with Lee, as a more complete team, pushing each other to making all of them better

With all the role players, MLE, and whoever they sign
I believe PJ saw something in Kerr and many will change their thoughts of his lack of EXP, with his intellegience, BB IQ, and influenced by/experience gained with PJ, Poppavich, Jordan/Pippen and the Bulls, Duncan and the Spurs, as a GM, and scouting if players as a very good analyst/scout of players/coaches/systems/plays with TNT, NBA TV,I
and NCAA

Is he proven?
No, but I think he will be a very good coach, tapped in the influence by many HOFs, absorbing their knowledge with his high knowledge of the game, and intellect
He is much more ready than people think he is

There's no way Poppovich and/or Buford would leave San Antonio to deal with our ****show Knicks and our buffoon of an owner.

Money talks

If Dolan is willing to give Poppavich full control and PJs contract,

I would disagree but does PJ really even have full control or not
If he did, I wonder if he regrets not tying up Kerr earlier now

But Pop and Buford already have full control in San Antonio; why would they leave that for a little more money and a promise from Dolan?

Phil did the same to the Knicks when he took the Lakers gig over the Knicks. I guess now he knows what this feels like. Anyways I'm sure Phil didn't go into the process with one candidate in mind.

Little more money? Phil makes 3 times more money than Popovich makes. There is some credence to what RonRon is pointing out. Pop is living like a prince right now but Phil's paygrade allows you to live like a King. I doubt Pop leaves San Antonio though. He's said multiple times that he plans to retire whenever Duncan and the gang retire.

If we're talking about guys we should've thrown big money at, Masai Ujiri would've been my guy. He has a real touch for building teams on the fly, is still a young man and makes 1/3 what Phil makes.

RonRon, what exactly in Kerr's background says to you "I can push people to make them better?"

I'm just wondering.

I would rather use BCT for Phil's acronym.
