"If it takes me taking a pay cut, I’ll be the first one on Mr. Dolan’s steps saying take my money and let’s build something strong over here.’”

This is what Phil Jax is responding to in his conference on Wednesday. He is not dissing Melo, he is responding to Melo's public statement he made during the all star break in February.

No, but some posters are calling out phil for the "Reminder" thinking it would agitate Melo.

You're wrong!!! Phil is doing what he's always done, which is use the media to get at his players. It's old school and it works. If a player can't take it then you don't want that player on your team. He's always probing and pushing his players to force them to expand their game and their mind. He's one of the best to ever do it but he's not the only one. Most don't do it anymore, but it's part of Phil's tool box.

In the end it's a very strong indication of who's running this ship. In the past it was really Melo, but Phil had to take it back and this was his means of doing that. Just incase Melo or anyone else hadn't gotten the memo. Get used to it.

Understand this, Melo is ready to walk...Phil as a GM can't /won't attract another star ...People here talking about LeBron coming with role players, a dream...We can talk about this, NYS State tax implications and all..Phil ain't suiting up..So if you feel that Phil in the front office is like having a ring then run with it..

Stars win rings...Lets see Phil pull this off with Zen mind tricks...

Fuck melo,

great chance for melo to back his words up, to be ACCOUNTABLE ;)

if he doesn't want to, then he's not someone we need.

we just won 30 something games, i'm sure we can manage that next year without him and after that the sky is the limit.

If you saw and heard Phil Speak, then you know its not like Isola is making it out to be. Its not a public thing, its just him saying he hopes Melo meant he'd take a cut for the greater good and serious about wanting to win!

Melo got little "Blame" for the teams disappointment and if he privately is not happy about his teammates then he did a good job keeping it under wraps. Melo did what he does best and stayed healthy. Back in the day guys like Oscar took a lot of crap for being a superstar but did not get paid 10's of millions to compensate.

This season fell publicly on Woodson and JR to a lessor extent.

Some of you make more of it than it is which is why guys like Isola still have readers. Its like some gossip kind of conjecture. Melo and many other stars publicly say they don't read the media and many of you would be surprised how stoic they are to that crap. Its just freaking business.

For all we know Phil might not even want melo back and will posture the scenario as "Melo wanted out".

And yes, Lebron is a dream scenario but plausible given he has an opt out.

No, Phil is not coaching but he is installing his system and putting together a Triangle Posse which will make every decision toward achieving a harmony ball movement that will play ball the way he wants.

If Melo is backing up his words then he will go to a team that can win..It won't be here..Secondly, these guys don't give two **** what u think...He will make bank no matter what..Not everyone want to be a Knick, check the free agent bottleneck trying to get into MSG the last 30 years..

Big Chief Triangle has a history of not keeping it in house. Remember the whole Pippen/Kukoc thing on MJs 1st retirement?

When its public its not in the house anymore. When you don't respond to the obvious its "Evasive".
Sports is nothing without the fans, so transparency is part of it.

HIs sarcastic and honest approach is cool in my book. Better than Larry having to do it on the side of the road.

Pippen left the game like a spoiled biytch. It was all to see.
