I certainly thought his thread was inappropriate but I wasn't expecting a banning. I recognize that this is Andrew's and Martin's forum and they do a great job overall. But Playa was an eleven year member and I wish we could know a bit more about what happened, including if he had had previous warnings about the content he posted.

In a weird way, banishment actually confirms his self-fullfilling prophecy/conspiracy theories, doesn't it?

Nothing fires up a martyr like martyrdom.

Bonn, you might recall that he was previously banned for at time. Specifically I don't really remember why but one could imagine.

I doubt it was just one thread or subject. My guess there were multiple times when he might have crossed the line that defines good taste or common courtesy.

I guess Andrew and I have a unique perspective on banning and we obviously are very aware of the many, multiple times we have asked playa both within the forums and throughout email etc about OT content and how to best and most appropriately post. Bonn, it's always hard for me to understand when you and others ask/post about previous warnings; playa has been publicly warned about a million times, and many many more offline. Perhaps I just naturally get to see all of those?

Playa has gone thru at least 2 different logins and many many months of not posting at our insistence. We have had too many last straws, etc. This was a VERY easy call.

For the most part, if we ban someone, it's after many warning - many offline - and with very easy to understand reasons.

We had very specifically asked that playa keep his OT stuff in OT and still be mindful of the content. He posted trash.

I didn't know if he was warned specifically about the homosexual stuff but I can accept and understand what you're saying about this being one too many problems.

No, playa2 was way too involved with internet wives tales to focus so much energy on Melo hate. Plus, he had way too much to say to be double-spacing everything.

Very interesting observation, though.
