Was at my son's T-ball little league town parade today and me & some of the dads on the team were laughing about the Knicks, how horrible a letdown this whole year's been, how the loss against the Wizards at home the other night was excruciating/maddening (one of these dads is a season ticket holder and was at the Washington game--said he wanted to cry), how I didn't even bother recording the Knicks/Heat game today--only the Yankee game, how Melo hurt his shoulder again (this time, the other shoulder I believe), how we have no draft picks and no cap maneuverability this summer, yada yada yada..The only pro sport that matters to me right now is baseball. Regarding the Knicks -- all I want to see now is a new coach (this guy Woodson has no idea what he's doing -- just looking over today's box score -- how does JR chucker get the green light for 28 shots and Amar'e Stoudemire, with all the work this guy's put in to get back to playing at a high level, get only 9? Explain that to me, Mike? How does that work? WOW..), and then I'm anxious to see what kind of minimal-cost talent Phil Jackson can bring in this summer until we recoup our draft picks and cap flexibility, and of course what goes on with Melo. Until then, I'm done. Nothing but a complete & utter disappointment this year -- from the owner, to the front office personnel, to the coach, to the players. They do not deserve to be a playoff team. That's it..
JR was at roughly a 50% clip last night. If we have good rebounders out there and he is hitting at that clip, I have no problem with him taking shots.
The problem I have is when you are off and shooting a lot. Melo is hurt, clearly it is affecting his game (sound familiar?) and he should defer more.
But Hardaway JR. wasn't hitting also. He has to find the hot hand, if that is even possible.
I think it just all comes down to the coach. We have too much talent to suck this bad. Watching some of the game last night and how terrible they were on defense, makes me think of the coach again.
And for some strange Reason, Woodson was calling time outs to get JR shots. Wish he called timeouts more often, instead of just ISO's (when he does call timeouts.)
What a terrible effort by the team. As most have posted, we only wanted them to make the playoffs so Denver/Orlando wouldn't get out pick.
But, in hindsight, we could use another Joachim Noah around to remind us of the Shizz that is Dolan.
He waited for it to come to this to hire Phil.
