I get that this team isn't deep, but he was playing with 1 arm. Why not take him out at least for a little. He was completely ineffective as pretty much any player would be in those conditions. Kinda wish he woulda asked to come out but at the same time the coaching staff needs to make a call

At a minimum, can they at least consider running a play for somebody else, or a play at all given that Melo couldn't get a shot off?

Probably defense and rebounding more than anything.

I agree with that but why continue to him on offense when he was clearly no capable of doing much. Didn't really make sense to me. In the 3rd he wasn't even trying to shoot.

Because our coach can't make adjustments to save his life- he didn't only not take one armed Melo out, he played him 38 minutes.

It's frustrating to watch something like that. Then he took STAT and Shump out of the game when I feel it allowed the Wiz to get off on attacking Felton and on D they didn't have to worry about guarding STAT inside. Just bad decision making IMO. There was very clearly something wrong with Melo and he shouldn't have been forced to play that much and be that involved in handling the ball. Not when he only had one good arm!!! Plus Melo was mentally shot. He was making bad decisions all night. This was a game for the other players to carry the load for once.

During the game Woodson called a time out when he first got hurt. Clyde said Woodson asked him if he wanted out. Melo said no. I am not a fan of coaches not taking charge in that situation but thatis what happened

That's typical in today's nba when the star player has the last call. Very rarely do you have a coach with enough balls to go against their best player..... with today's nba coaches.

Melo left in for defensive purposes? Blasphemy!

I cannot believe this thread has survived this long unscathed.

Apparently Woody is not high on JTyler stock.
