Let's look 3 years down the road and see what the Knicks will be. In order for Phil to win he must get 2 of the best players on the planet. Do you see that happening. The only way would be if we trade for some 1st round picks but wait!! No on will give us a first round pick because our players are that bad. The only way would be if we tank next season and get the 1st or 2nd pick and if it's a great draft it may happen. We can forget LeBron he just ain't coming to New York.
Phil says we need to get some talent in here and I agree, but how?? This will be Phil Jacksons greatest test as a basketball leader. He needs to coach next season then put in a coach. He needs to first hand get into their minds their heads their brains. Phil must accept the fact that not everyone can play in New York. The pressure and night life is big.
Phil Jackson you have a big challenge on your hands. Can you do it?? Remember you only did it with the best players on the planet.
I don't think we necessarily need stars to build a successful program. Remember that the Pistons were champs in 2004 without a bonafided superstar and the Mavericks were champs with just one, surrounded by a group of geriatrics. Moving forward, I think we need to look to acquire a team with guys like Aaron Afflalo, Danilo Gallinari, Greg Monroe, Jameer Nelson, Brandon Knight, OJ Mayo, etc; guys who can be quasi-all-stars on any given night.
