Hes another triangle fit type player. A guy who has more advanced skills who has footwork can shoot rebound and run the floor.

He looks great there, he was in the zone. Nice searching for players to a fit a system, Pittsburg Steelers have done that for years and found so many diamonds.
But, we don't even have a second round pic, though we can probably buy one. I hope.

I like the Kid Cleanthony Early from the Shockers of Wichita State

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

He shot up into the lottery. He reminds me of a cross between Ron Artest and Caron Butler.

I don't really follow college bball but I googled him while I was watching the game and was wondering how a player can look so good and projected so low (late 50's).

I wonder where he would be projected now.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Older players tend to get left behind in the drafting process. The guy I liked all year Kyle Andersen now is projected all the way up to 5. He was 50 at the start of the year--not a senior but shows that you have to watch the development of the player. Some kids take longer. Is Deandre Kane a 60 pick or Russ Smith 58? Bachinskyi 59? I don't know about that--hope so--maybe the KNicks can get a good older player who can step in and help right away.

You seem to have a really good eye for talent.

Couple of questions:

1) what did you see in shumpert when he came out?
2) THJ?
3) Do you follow the advance metrics of these players while they are in college?

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I wouldn't mind bringing Aaron Craft in to camp. He reminds me of Eric Snow. His offense needs to come around, but the dude can defend and he's tough. There's a good chance he won't be drafted, but he already has a skill that translates in the NBA.

ive loved Payne's game since last yr. good thing we have a draft pick to get him in the 1st rd...o wait>????
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

He has the size and skills to be a 20 pt NBA scorer form the 4 position.

I think it's Cory Jefferson. He didnt have a great year but hes a sure fire NBA player. He could be good.

Baylor has history of sub par player development. Just take a look at Austin. Jefferson is a beast and will find a role as energy player in the NBA at the very least.

Zach Lavine, another player we don't have a shot at, is leaving UCLA early for the draft. I think he has the most of potential on a talented UCLA squad. I'd like to see him stay an extra year to gain weight and develop as a playmaker. Not sure if he's a sure-fire lottery guy at this point.

Early was the only guy I ever commented on since I don't watch college ball too much. Kid impressed the hell out of me when I saw him.

Excited to get any pick let alone a good one. kudos to phil.

Agreed, would have loved to add Payne and a PG if we could have got 2 1st rounders in this draft
Felt if we would have been able trade CA and possibly Iman, those were the type of players that would have speeded up our quick retool in time for 2015-16 and/or 2016-17, preserving the cap space while concentrating on development/coaching till then, also with our own 2015 draft pick, and in addition to continued development projects like Jeremy Tyler and vet min's for the risk/reward
Though majority of the PG's and Payne were selected higher than their MOCK's as none of them actually fell
For PG's I really like

Elfrid Payton
Tyler Ennis

Which are both complete different type of PG's in addition to Lavine's Westbrook potential *which will take some time to develop*

playa2!!! He hates gays and believes the gov will engineer school shootings to pass gun control legislation but damn he made a good call with the Knicks draft pick.

I love that Briggs thought he would be in the lottery and not available.

Exciting!

DeAndre Kane will be playing for Laker's summer league
There will are still some good PG's out there with great size, with the ability to play PG/SG but are LEGIT PG's, similar to Lilliard
Some other include

PG with SG ability
===========================

DeANdre Kane
Kendall Williams
Sean Kilpatrick

Combo Guard
===================

Deone Burton

As a PG/SG, combo guard, Deonte Burton
How Burton was undrafted despite his supreme athleticism and combination of strength/explosiveness, ability to penetrate/finish with contact = STEAL
He is a YOUNG Raymond Felton with 10x his physical abilities even when he was drafted at 6th

a few other more PG's include

PG, maybe combo guard that can SHOOT, but Cotton is a legit PG I think....
======================================================================================

Bryce Cotton
Markel Starks

Center
=============
Of course there is still

Backnakyski

Patrick Young

F's
==========

James Michael McAdoo

Khem Birch

C.J. Fair

LaQuinton Ross
Melvin Ejim
