Yet another brilliant move by Donnie Walsh?

Whoever would of thought a player with a serious degenerative knee condition, who missed an entire season and complained this year about constant pain, would break down! The media have such a love off the Pacers they acted like Bynum was going to be magically healed.

Why don't you ask the GM, or the president of the team?

Bynum was signed so the heat couldn't sign him. The one concern is that the pacers chemistry may have taken a hit with the addition of turner/Bynum and the subtraction of Granger. There has been a lot written about what a positive guy granger is in a locker room

What a pity that (it looks like) we won't get a chance to play them. At this point, we actually look like the better "team".

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Neither are named Donnie BTW.

Teams hit walls. INdy felt they had to get bigger to battle Bulls or Nets.

Let it play out.

I thought it Bird was president and Pritcard GM? Donnie just an advisor

They drafted George, Hibbert, lance and traded for West

It was a tongue-and-cheek comment and I know you get defensive about Donnie so I was going to let your first reply pass but come on already with this! You have a tendency give Donnie a pass on almost everything even though he has not proven that he can build a championship team. This is not Jerry West or Pat Riley we are talking about. Those guys get a pass on mistakes cause they built championship teams.

Donnie in NY flat out sucked but you never called him out on anything. Lets take a look, Donnie singed D'Antoni, traded Zach and Crawford for nothing and blew it in the Lebron, Wade and Bosh summer which was the summer he had planned the rebuild for. What does he do next? Sign a injury prone Amare to an H20-esque max contract. No one else even came close to the offer we made. And he was about to sign Joe Johnson next!! You blamed all the on the owner and now you are saying lets blame Bird and Pritchard. You had no problems blaming Isiah and Layden but Donnie Walsh is bullet proof? There is zero consistency when it comes to Donnie. He never on a championship in Indiana and sucked in NY. You had no problem with people saying blame Isiah for Dolan taking over the Melo trade talks right? So why get so defensive about a similar off hand remark about Walsh?

And I know Walsh is consulting and not the point man but either he was on-board with this signing or Bird has tuned him off like NY should have the minute his Lebron plan unravled. You stick up for Donnie almost as much as guns and his crew like to blame Melo. It's old and tired. Donnie did nothing for NY like he did nothing for the Pacers. Face it and please drop arguing technicalities. If you couldn't tell I was being facetious then fine but whats with the self reply clarification post after 10 hours?

Yup. And signed Copeland to take him away from NY and signed Bynum to keep him off Miami's roster. Both moves might backfire. The Hibbert pick was genius. Wish we had him over Gallo.

you dislike Donnie more than I like him. Blame is important here?

Who signs the checks? You think A man like donnie didn't tell Dolan about Amare's knees and back? Think Dolan was not told about the financial aspects of not having a contract insured?

I don't "Blame" donnie for freaking thing. HE was castrated the longer he was on the payroll.

someone here said "Donnie messed up signing Bynum" My take was you got two execs far more visible. The glee and joy to finger blame bynum on Donnie in some kind of retribution of his knick days seemed a bit redundant.

They got Evan Turner in place of Grangers expiring. Turner is younger and more mobile. If they lose stephanson they could resign Turner which seemed to me a very smart move. Thinking beyond the immeadiate. For most fans if its not infront of us we don't think about it.

Bynum cost them nothing. I doubt Bynum goes to Miami given they have anderson and looking at odom but if a healthy bynum was on the heat it would be problematic for Indy. A healthy bynum on Indy is not. A healthy bynum is a problem for a lot of teams.

Teams cruise and hit walls all the time.

Right now Brooklyn and Kncks is the team playing best in the east. Go figure.

I'm just glad we were never seriously in the hunt to sign Bynum. ECurry 2 on steroids.

Donnie actually got rid of ECurry and Jerome James. Nothing will ever blemish those two moves.
