I'm really curious what the numbers would be on this poll. Melo vs. H20

The Spree poll is closer than I thought so I really got to thinking what people would vote like in a poll with H20.
Melo
H20

You have got to be effing kidding me....

Can't wait for tkf the overly intelligent to respond to this with uncontestable facts. Like FT% and ... likeability factors... and...better teammate...and...more cost effective...

Are you trolling for trolls with these polls? Bada Bing!

No, I am just curious. I used to think Spree was the best wing player and many people disagreed and said Houston was better. Just curious what they will say now.

The funny thing Bonn, is that these polls though silly at the beginning actually ended up being very telling about fans judgement on UK.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

H20 was a good 3rd even 4th option on a championship caliber team. Very good player. In classic knick fashion we paid him like a franchise player

Agreed. He never really seemed to be the same player after the 2000 Olympics. He was a much better finisher and driver to the hoop before the Olympics. An athletic version of Dell Curry. Also one of the best three-point shooters off the dribble I've seen.

The answer's obvious, but I was a huge Houston fan. What I wouldn't give to have a shooter like him on this roster next to Melo. Still remember him breaking 50 in LA off the heels of the Laker dynasty.

Let's go THJ, you got some work to do!

I loved the 90s Knicks, so I voted H20- ha! I remember watching Houston's jumper was a thing of beauty- I loved the snap of the net. He was a better driver and finisher than he realised, and it was always frustrating that he refused to do that more. He could be very passive (I remember Spre laid into after we lost in the playoffs and blasted Houston for not laying it all on the line) and inconsistent- it was maddening sometimes.

His first year with us was a big disappointment at the time- his numbers were poor, but when the playoffs came he (and the rest of the team) really upped his game. He seemed to be one of those players who just played better come playoff time- I miss having guys like that on the team as we seem to have mainly chokers and slumpers in the few times we've been to the playoffs lately.

I know Melo is the better player, but I have happier memories of H2O- years after Melo is gone, what will I remember fondly? Probably not much- I liked that he to us in to the playoffs a couple of seasons ago, almost single handedly, but team success has been few and far between- it isn't particularly his fault, but thats just the way it is.

Agreed. Melo is obviously the better player BUT H20 was apart of better playoff success

The only way Houston gets to start on a championship team is if the opposing team has a bad 2 guard. Houston was nothing more than a spot up shooter and a defensive liability. Couldn't dribble, couldn't drive, couldn't pass, couldn't post, couldn't rebound. Him getting to start over Spree at the two was a biggest joke of all time. Should have traded him the first chance we got. Many of the same people that kill Melo for little things used to worship Houston. I cannot believe that tool got 2 votes over Melo.

there are 100 million reasons to not like allan houston.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Yet somehow we got to the finals with him as our starting 2 guard...

I would have taken Jeff Hornacek over Spreewel and Houston in a nano second.

What an underrated player vs 2 very overrated players.

so here is what phil is thinking ....
