a prime example of when a GM is fired veteran players know the coach in place is a lame duck.

The knicks played that way when Grunwald got the ax, players took the game loosely and didn't come focus on purpose.

Call it a mutiny or whatever, but there was no professionalism on the team after that.

Players knew Dolan didn't know squat about basketball and he was the one making all the personnel decisions.

Now when word got around that Phil maybe coming on board, players knew that they had to stop hanging out too late, leave groupies alone and come to work like a paid professional.

What we are seeing is what every NBA franchise is supposed to have in place, a front office that has it's stuff together and well organized with credibility in PRO Basketball.

THIS IS THE SAME ROSTER THAT WAS GETTING DESTROYED ON OFFENSE AND DEFENSE AND NOW THEY ARE ON A 7 GM WIN STREAK.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I'm sure Phil's name shook players up and got them more motivated. But thats only one aspect of it. Amare hasn't played this well for this long since we first acquired him. Smith has recovered from injuries and has been playing well for a while. Felton has been a mess all season with the divorce. It was a collection of things. Tyson and Shump are probably the players that needed that kick in the ass though.

Word...

The Knicks should be 3rd seed in the east. Now we have to hope Charlotte or Atlanta loses big.

THIS IS THE SAME ROSTER THAT WAS GETTING DESTROYED ON OFFENSE AND DEFENSE AND NOW THEY ARE ON A 7 GM WIN STREAK.

JR was suspended and hurt.
Bargnani out of shape and had to fit.
Felton drama
Injury's
sensitive to chris smith? I doubt that.
Now Amare healthy, he didn't play until when early this season?
Tyson injured
JR healthy, THJ maturation
Back court injury

Phil on the job one day does not make a front office "Together".

Loss of focus on purpose? Ok, where you get that?

Why then the resurgence? Feltons moving forward for now, Injuries mending, Amare is beasting, backcourt healthy, and a soft schedule. Last nite was a nice win against Indy. They are struggling, but its still a nice win.

Is Woodson just smarter?

First day of practice in Boston for a rookie named Havlicek.
Red Auerbach: "Boy, are people going to think I'm smart."

The player's play. The coaches hope not to mess on themselves or the court.

What you are seeing is the result of playing poor opponents and the insertion of the teams best players into the starting lineup. The team isn't starting the game out one on five. Adding Amare and Smith to the starting lineup takes a lot of pressure off of Melo and makes it less obvious where the offense is going to come from.

The losing that Knicks encountered in the beginning was more Woodson than anyone else. Injuries are a lame excuse every team gets them and the good teams have the next man up policy. Woodson being excessively stubborn with really bad lineups, he basically couldn't get out of his own way.

Amare playing is big for the Knicks he is the most efficient scorer they have and you would get the feeling that Amare was being phased out by Woody. Good thing Amare is persistent and keeps coming at you most players would have crumpled up and just collected the fat check. Kudos to Amare for grinding away. Amare is the epitome of hard work and total 100% effort. His never give up attitude is contagious.

Wait one, are you saying Amare played defense like he's playing now ?

Are you saying JR Smith has been playing smart all season ?

Are you saying Ray Ray has been shooting less bad shots and playing a better all around game all season.

Those guys who start now were on the court together before, they weren't playing with any effort defensively at all.

They only started playing hard together when they had direction and accountability from the front office.

If they didn't pass the ball, Melo would be doing what he's always done go iso.

True that, the win streak started before the PJ rumores.

I think there a multitude of things going bad.

Injuries were a big part, Jr started the year hurt, Stat was under restrictions, and Chandler broke his leg.

Off the court issues with Feltons wife and JR's weed, brother, etc, were killing the team moral.

I think the locker room had too many voices, losing Bargs, cutting Beno and Metta, I would say the play definitely turned after the trade deadline.

There are a lot things that are benefiting the team right, can't discount the addition of Phil giving them a boost, you can't discount just hitting rock bottom and deciding to fight as a team.

Amare has always been that way.. I think he is a bit delusional about dominating again, but hard work has always been something he has been known for...especially off the court..

it's tough the knicks have been playing poor competition but the pacers have not been playing that well. Add to the fact that phil is here.... we have seen this before.. right after dantoni quit...

good teams make a habit of playing well, playing hard 99% of the time.. knicks have players that tend to play hard or well under certain conditions.. that pretty much defines most of the losing teams in the league..

do you really think those are legit excuses to be 19 games under .500 at one point? take a look at the hawks and bulls, they suffered more injuries than the knicks, yet they maintained..

we can't downplay guys like felton and JR as trash and use their absence as s reason why we struggled..good teams can maintain losing fringe players.. right?

There also is a change in philosophy and that is less switching. I see the team playing a different style of defense more straight up defense.

KNicks play is a distraction from FlT 370 disappearance.

Playa2 looking for youtube to support Woodsons BrainFarts, JR's bong, and the low self esteem caused by Chris Smith.

We are witnessing a team playing better, a break in the schedule, catching Indy at a time they not playing well, and we were at home.

No doubt Phil presence has put everyone on edge.

I doubt JR is passing on the puss thinking "golly wiz, I need my rest for a game tommorow".......

I must say, without our off season pick ups (bargi MWP & beno) we now have the exact core from last season with only THJ as a new player.

So it's not to surprising, if KMART gets in on the action we can make a serious run
