I listened to PJ yesterday--and the kind of players he would want to put together a team and the first guy came to my mind--Kyle Andersen. essentially Kyle is a less athletic Scottie Pippen. A 6-9 guard who can play 4 positions who is a great rebounder--both offensive and defensive a willing and excellent passer--a great ballhandler for 6-9--hes long and can guard some 1 guard if needed he's a much improved 3 pt shooter and has been consistent on a an excellent YOUNG UCLA team. Also would add in Deandre Kane later on another sizable willing passer rebounder who can make shots at 6-4 PG.

I don't know about him. He is a good college player but to me he seems slow and not very athletic. The separation he is getting now probably will not translate on the next level and that's going to hurt. He also has a slow shot motion which will give him problems because it allows teams extra time to pack the paint then close out hard on him if he's spotting up.

On defense his lack of foot speed and strength may hurt him on that end.

He should probably stay and try to work on developing his body more and hopefully he can some more athleticism with dedicated S&C.

I would look at it completely different. Hes 6-9 an almost unguardable PG who uses his length to simply shoot pass and rebound right over people. He's number 1 in college PER. And I will agre with you about the need for speed--Im sold on Russ Smith--but my feeling is that Phil DOES NOT want Tyson Chandler and the type of draft pick we might be able to get for him would likely be 10-17. After listening to pHil--and you can hear in Bill Waltons voice--just how unique Andersen is. Phil described the type of player he likes--and Andersen is the type. Dont over rated speed on bigger guys--Larry Bird wasnt exactly the fastest cat.

I just worry about his dribble against quality nba D and I think he lacks the ability to defend any position on the next level. Maybe he can improve with more seasoning but in my opinion he is not ready.

nice find. He is projected to be drafted in the teens. Not sure we have the assets to get him. If we trade any of our players it is more a 20+ type pick. You have anymore players in that mold projected in the late first round or 2nd round?

Larry Bird was one of the best shooters in League history. Andersen has yet to show he can shoot threes at a high volume at the PG level. I don't see him playing PG in the NBA right now. I think he needs to bulk up so he can play power forward like Boris Diaw and Anthony Mason, or become more athletic.

There is a modern NBA precedent for Kyle Andersen and his name is Boris Diaw. But for all the similarities from a skillset standpoint, I don't think that Andersen is nearly as athletic. I think that even Jared Dudley is more mobile and I think he is one of the least athletic players in the league. I'm sure that the strength and conditioning guys can help in that department but I think that Andersen's development in this respect will be limited. If I had a mid-tier pick, I would go with Tyler Ennis who seems like the perfect role player for the triangle.

I think he's closer to Boris Diaw than Scottie Pippen

Bachinynski made some cash last night. The bottom line is the NBA is void of 7 footers--while he has been inconsistent he gives you enough of these types of games to walk away saying I can use this at 7-2 25 pointy 8 rebounds and a block with good D and hes a solid passer. Im sure Steve Kerr knows who Bachyinski is.

Bachyinski played well. He reminds me of Aaron Gray.the NBA game might be too fast for him to be stater, but he can defly contribute off the bench. I wish we had a second rounder to nab Jahii Carson. That lil guy has the athleticism to thrive. Carson's stock has fallen due to the amount of quality PGs who have come out this year, but he will be a steal.

Aaron Gray? I think some team will get very lucky with Bachyinski--he is much more athletic than gray and runs the floor well. The big man in college basketball is a tough position. Notice how Andre Drummond struggled at Uconn. You would think hed average 20-15 and be a shaq with his size college basketball is a guard dominated sport.

I meant more in the way they moved. Bachynski is very mehcanicla in the low post. He can overcome it with his size at the college level, but he's going to have a tough time finsihing in the League. He's already 25, so its not like he's gonna get more athletic. Maybe Doleac is a better comparison. Anyway, I agree that he's going to be able to contribute in the League.

remember all of the 7 footers the Bulls had? Bachyisnki is actually quite skilled in many ways + he runs the court. Looks like a perfect 2nd or 3rd type Phil Jackson C as he has good footwork a good team player rebounds passes and most importantly at 7-2 can protect the rim.
