I was just wondering if the Pacers would be interested in trading for JR Smith. They seem to have the stability and culture necessary to withstand the foolishness that is JR, while maximizing his ability to be a productive player and perennial 6th man candidate.
As much as they traded for Evan Turner at the deadline, I think that he was moreso intended to be insurance in case Lance Stephenson got a grossly overpaid offer this offseason. Assuming that Stephenson stays at a reasonable price, could we flip JR's $6 million/yr deal (in principle) for Evan Turner at about $10-$14 million in the first year, and then about $3-5 million in the second year (in an attempt to preserve our cap space in 2015)? I'd really like the idea of Evan Turner as our 3 moving forward, with Tim Hardaway Jr at the 2 and the prospects of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and Marc Gasol at the 1,4 and 5.
