If you would like to read a perfect summation of the New York Knickerbockers-- to understand the abuse Knicks fans have endured-- I recommend this article! Clearly a student of the game. Reminds me of DocZaius on RealGM.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

He seems to take a lot of journalistic liberty. Dolan is an easy target. He went all in and some of his stuff wasn't accurate in my opinion.
Dolan adores going long on Hall of Famers. Lenny Wilkens, Larry Brown, Isiah Thomas — all coached here before tumbling down the backstairs of the Garden. Donnie Walsh landed at La Guardia as one of the most respected hoops hands in the N.B.A.; he lasted a few years before he returned to Indiana, where, in peace and quiet, he quickly helped fashion a championship contender.

Lenny got treated horribly and I agree with him but the other guys on the list I think he missed on. I was really excited about Brown coming to coach but he seemed intent on sabotaging Isiah. If Dolan is put in a position to pick he is going to pick Isiah and isiah is a survivor. He threw Marbury and his daughter under the bus to save himself. Dolan gave Isiah a long leash and he only got rid of him when forced to so to suggest that Dolan had something to do with his failing is not accurate. Look at the failed cba or his tenure at florida international. Also, what is up with the revisionist history and Walsh. Every player on that indy team was acquired by Larry bird when walsh was working for the knicks. The only guy that Walsh acquired during bird's one year hiatus that is on the team is Ian Mahini. Walsh is a gentleman and a very respected guy but the current team in indy isn't his work. The knicks on the other hand are still recovering from his time in ny.

This is like the 10th time I have read your propaganda and you constantly try to discredit Walsh and at the same time prompt me to remind you that Kevin pritchard was head of player development and then GM UNDER BIRD.........

What works in Indy is the process of Owner delegating to Bird-Donnie-Pritchard and the CONTINUANCE OF CULTURE STARTED YEARS AGO UNDER DONNIE.........

When you set a course straight, it works.

I agree with your assessments for the most part and while Donnie gets some props he might not deserve from tome to time, he also does not get credit for his long tenure in INDY over the last 20+ years.

I agree that the ownership management team works in Indy. I don't agree with Walsh getting credit for work done in Indy while he was in ny.
