He's over the rookie wall for now. He's also playing better defense as of late, sky is the limit for this young man.Thjr has been shooting over 60% from the field in the last three games. Nice all around scoring. I Really liked his back to the basket, turnaround jumper today vs the bucks. His play keeps him on the floor. The best is that this is just the beginning of thjr!

Shump did a great job off the bench today, he's going to relish in the second unit.

The only knock on THJ is that he does not do anything other than score. That is probably a reflection of the role he is being asked to play, but getting a couple more assists and rebounds would make him a more well-rounded player. But I agree that the defense is approving, which was the main knock on his game. The kid really could develop into an all=star. It is amazing that we got him so late in the draft. The kid should have been a top-5 pick.

I love when he talks about coming out to shoot for two hours before games. That probably has a lot to do with his dad. He is a good one. Glad the knicks picked him.

I read Shump was saying his is happier in the second unit because it is easier for him to score, which I interpret as meaning in the second unit he gets to do more than simply sit around and wait for Melo to pass him the ball with 2-3 seconds on the shot clock before he gets to take a shot. Shump is playing better and the team is better with him coming off the bench. Plus, having Amare is huge as far as making our offense more balanced and consistent.

I saw him saying that he shoots 4 hrs before the game.He does have a great work ethic .

Our young guards will have even more development now and we get a lot out of THJ and Shump already. I still can't get over the fact that there were those who actually didn't like the pick of THJ. To me he seemed like a kid that would be better in the Pros than he was able to show in college and i'm glad that it seems to be holding true.

Guilty as charged. He's definitely exceeded my expectations...

Im a huge Shump fan and I still think he is very talented and should not be traded.

When he was drafted, his father also said that he would be a better pro than college player because of how he had to play there. I don't follow college ball much, so I wasn't sure if this was an astute analysis or a father boosting his son. From now on, I'll take Tim Sr at his word.

Shump is overrated and injury prone. THJ is legit scoring threat. Shump has never had a stretch like THJ is having late in the season. I would say THJ is the best or second best player we have drafted in 10 years. David Lee is better for sure but THJ might be better than him.

Now that Jackson is on board he knows how important in is to have defensive specialist on the team. Shumps safe for now I think...also his offense will get better in the second unit, he's more a part of the offensive scheme in the second unit..

It's hard to tell. Thjr is a legit scorer. When they are hitting they look unstoppable and you wonder how they ever lose. Jamal Crawford could drop 50 and he's a good player. You have to see them when they struggle.

He's looking great man. Super exciting.
